Gary Apple, who has served as a contributing writer on hit comedy series such as "The Simpsons," will debut his new irreverent holiday musical Christmas In Hell during this summer's New York Musical Festival.

Within the span of just the first two weeks of July, four cutting edge comedies will open at producer Mark Cortale's renowned Art House in Provincetown, hot on the heels of the just-opened new hit Varla Jean Merman show Bad Heroine.  First, Jinkx Monsoon and Peaches Christ bring their smash hit Return to Grey Gardens back to Ptown after a two-year hiatus for a summer long run from July 5 - September 7. Next, Jinkx Monsoon debuts her own new show The Ginger Snapped with cohort Major Scales at the piano, from July 8 through September 10. The next evening, super-duo Kitten n' Lou make their Art House debut with their new comedy "Holier Than Thou" - fresh from a critically-acclaimed, sold out smash run at Fringe World in Australia and Joe's Pub in NYC, from July 9 - 24. The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE (Mark Brokaw, Artistic Director) announces the creative teams and casting for the two original book musicals, COWBOY BOB, created by Molly Beach Murphy, Jeanna Phillips, and Annie Tippe, book by Molly Beach Murphy, music and lyrics by Jeanna Phillips; and GUMBO, music by Brett Macias and book and lyrics by Christina Quintana, conceived by Brett Macias and Christina Quintana, which are being developed in an intensive two-week summer lab at Yale School of Drama, June 13-24. Scott Frankel is the Artistic Advisor, and Catherine Sheehy is the resident Dramaturg for this year's Institute, which culminates with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of New Haven's International Festival of Arts & Ideas on June 23 and 24.

The 71st Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 11th at 8/9c hosted by Kevin Spacey. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. The title of the musical comes from a line in the movie which goes: 'we eat ham, and jam, and Spam a lot.' Like the film, written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways

Me The People: The Trump America Musical, a new musical revue with a book and lyrics by Nancy Holson (Bush Wars, The News in Revue on PBS - 5 Emmy Awards, Ludwig Live!) and directed and choreographed by Jay Falzone (Bush Wars, Cooking with the Calamari Sisters), will play at The Triad (158 W. 72nd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues), it was announced today by producer Jim Russek.

Ruth Eckerd Hall announces the 2017-18 Broadway season, which includes, making its Clearwater debut, the Tony Award-winner for Best Musical Jersey Boys, along with multiple Tony Award Best Musical winners A Chorus Line, Cabaret and Chicago, family favorites A Charlie Brown Christmas Live Onstage and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella and Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles.

The Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical 'Jersey Boys,' the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, opens May 18 at 8 p.m. at the Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre. 'Jersey Boys' previews May 16 and 17, and will continue through June 24, 2017.

Here they go again! Additional casting has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Mamma Mia!, Friday, July 28, at 8 PM, Saturday, July 29, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 30, at 7:30 PM. Golden Globe, Critics' Choice, Teen Choice nominee, Imagen Award winner and Broadway actor Jaime Camil, of CW's Jane the Virgin, has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Mamma Mia!, the 2001 international phenomenon which will be this summer's annual staged musical at the Bowl. Camil will play the role of Sam Carmichael.

Imago Theatre's mentor Jacques Lecoq, a theatre icon who influenced the world on movement in the performing arts, taught a concept called  "the balance of the stage."  In 1998, Jerry Mouawad, Artistic Co-Director of Imago Theatre, designed a deck suspended in a black void three feet off the stage floor that tips and sways in an abyss. It made physical and visible Lecoq's "Balance of the Stage."
