Shadowbox Adds 50 Performers to Schiller Park Performance, 8/1

There was certainly no shortage of people at the Woodstock music festival in 1969. In fact 300,000 people were crammed onto Max Yasgur¹s farmland for three days of peace, love, and music. When Shadowbox recreated the Woodstock festival for the original musical documentary, Back to the Garden, they did it with only 40 cast members.

Emmy, Golden Globe and two time Academy Award winner Michael Douglas will be celebrated at the Film Society's 37th Annual Chaplin Award Gala on the evening of Monday May 24th at Alice Tully Hall. WBGO Jazz 88.3FM radio host Rob Crocker will emcee the celebration taking place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30pm.

WBGO Jazz 88.3FM radio host Rob Crocker will emcee the celebration taking place on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7:30pm. The concert will serve as the first of many events marking the church's recent restoration. The lineup will include: renowned jazz pianist Aaron Diehl with his trio, including special guest Victor Goines on saxophone and clarinet; Yasushi Nakamura on bass and Marion Felder on drums; Laurel Massé, founding member of the vocal group Manhattan Transfer and a 40-voice choir directed by John Uehlein, Music Director at the Church of St. Francis Xavier. Mr. Diehl was hailed by The New York Times as a 'revelation' and by the Chicago Tribune as 'the most promising discovery that [Wynton] Marsalis has made since Eric Reed.'

BACK TO THE GARDEN Becomes Shadowbox Caberet's Most Successful Musical

It was announced Wednesday, April 28, that Shadowbox Cabaret's original musical, BACK TO THE GARDEN has officially become the company's most successful musical. Currently in its second extension, the show has grossed more than double its closest comparison, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, which ran originally in the fall of 2006 and was revived in the summer of 2007. THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW was performed for a total of 1,771 patrons and made $52,346. BACK TO THE GARDEN has been seen by 3,866 people and grossed $133,434 so far. There are still six performances left, before it closes on May 23rd.

Schiff & Wright to Star in Broadway Revival of TALLEY'S FOLLY

Producers Phil Monat, T. Richard Fitzgerald and Randall L. Wreghitt announced today that TALLEY'S FOLLY, the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Lanford Wilson (Burn This, Fifth of July, Balm in Gilead) will have its first-ever Broadway revival as part of the 2010-2011 Season. The production will begin previews in spring 2011, with exact dates and a theater to be announced.
