Full casting has today been announced for the landmark revival of the award-winning British musical The Hired Man, co-produced by the Queen's Theatre Hornchurch and Hull Truck Theatre in association with Oldham Coliseum Theatre. This epic heroic tale of love, betrayal and loyalty opens in Hornchurch (27 April - 18 May), transfers to Hull (23 May - 15 June) and concludes in Oldham (20 June - 6 July).

The Downtown Cabaret Theatre starts off 2019 with 1984, setting the bar high for the year with an absolutely phenomenal production of a staged version of the classic George Orwell novel.

Wales Millennium Centre and Wiltshire Creative have today announced casting for the first ever UK stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's much-loved Miss Marple thriller The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side. Colin R Campbell, Suzanna Hamilton, Julia Hills, Katherine Manners, Katie Matsell, Davina Moon, Huw Parmenter and Gillian Saker will join the previously announced Susie Blake and Simon Shepherd. The Mirror Crack'd will be a European Premiere, opening at Salisbury Playhouse on 15 February before touring to Dublin, Cambridge and Cardiff. The Mirror Crack'd will have an Opening Night on 25 February.

Ebony Repertory Theatre announced today that Tony Award-winning actor Roger Robinson died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Escondido, California from a complicated heart condition. He was 78.

The brewers at Samuel Adams today announced the 10th release of Samuel Adams Utopias, the craft beer community's most renowned and sought-after extreme barrel-aged beer. While Sam Adams pioneered the practice of barrel-aging, now a mainstay for American craft brewers, the brewers continually push the brewing and barrel-aging limit with proprietary brewing techniques to create Utopias, a beer unlike any other in the U.S. To create this year's one-of-a-kind vintage, the 2017 recipe includes Utopias aged in a variety of barrels including new Scandinavian Aquavit barrels as well as a portion of the final blend aged in Moscat barrels, a first for the beer.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the new Broadway production of J. B. Priestley's Time and the Conways, directed by Tony winner Rebecca Taichman (Indecent). The play returns to Broadway for the first time since its premiere in 1938 and opens officially tonight, October 10, 2017. This is a limited engagement through November 26, 2017 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). Actress/LA theatre inaugurator, Penny Fuller has embarked on a new leg of her career as a cabaret artiste. Ms. Fuller will be bringing her solo musical play 13 THINGS ABOUT ED CARPOLOTTI to the Broad Stage beginning January 11. I had the most delightful opportunity to chat with the vibrant, vivacious Ms. Fuller. She possesses a memory of an elephant, effortlessly listing off names of cast compatriots and retelling intriguing incidents of her theatre highlights.

"War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength."  Greenway Arts Alliance Presents: George Orwell's 1984, directed by Kate Jopson as the first production of their novel to stage program Greenway Reads. 300 Fairfax High School students are reading the novel and will attend matinee's of the theatrical production. The adaptation by Alan Lyddiard creates an interactive and engaging experience for audience members. Jopson said, "We're trying to create an immersive experience. The elements of the play and its themes are all around us in the real world. We try to emphasize that and as soon as you arrive at the theater there's not anywhere you're not in the set of 1984, even in the lobby and bathrooms."  

Sony Classical proudly announces the release of Ghostbusters (Original Motion Picture Score) to accompany Sony Pictures' highly anticipated feature film Ghostbusters, in theaters today, July 15. Featuring a score by multi-award winning composer Theodore Shapiro, the album is available now digitally and on CD today, July 15.

Casting has been announced for the concert production of Howard Goodall and Melvyn Bragg's rousing 1984 musical The Hired Man, which will play London's Cadogan Hall on September 22nd.
