Taking Steps - 2017 - Regional (US) History , Info & More

Barrington Stage
30 Union St. Pittsfield, MA

Taking Steps is a laugh out-loud, riotously funny comedy. Elizabeth, a former dancer, will do anything to escape the overbearing clutches of her rich husband, Roland, who is poised to buy a haunted house (a former brothel). The dithering, confused Kitty, reunited with her monstrously boring fiance, will go to extraordinary lengths to elude his sleep-inducing presence. Add to the mix an inarticulate solicitor and a builder who is a motorcycle maniac, and you have one of Ayckbourn’s funniest and most heartfelt comedies.

BWW Review: These TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA Have it Made in the Shade
by Ellen Dostal - Aug 9, 2017

ISC sets TWO GENTS in the 1950s, accompanied by a live band on stage playing an infectious rock 'n' roll score. Musical director Dave Beukers' arrangements are bright and sexy with a beat that's perfect for dancing (think Elvis Presley during his Sun Records days or Jerry Lee Lewis). It's a choice that admirably complements Shakespeare's early play - thought by many to be his first - and the erratic appetites of youth.
