Hylton Performing Arts Center announced today its 2019-2020 season of mainstage performances, featuring a diverse lineup of artists and ensembles across genres, as part of Hylton Presents, Hylton Family Series, Matinee Idylls, and the American Roots Series. The Hylton Center also announced the first Hylton Center EXTRA! for the season: the husband and wife duo and banjo icons, B la Fleck and Abigail Washburn, in a special concert event featuring their unique blend of alternative bluegrass. The American Theatre Wing announced today that the 2019 Jonathan Larson Grants recipients are Julia Gytri & Avi Amon (book, music and lyrics), Emily Gardner Xu Hall (book, music and lyrics), Andy Roninson (music and lyrics), and Ben Wexler (music and lyrics). Four prestigious grants of $10,000 each, as well as additional support in the form of residencies, concerts, and recording grants, totaling over $50,000, will be presented on Monday, March 19, 2018 at a private event at the WNYC Greene Space. The event will feature special performances of the recipients' work.

Macha Theatre Works presents the world premiere of Sheathed by local playwright Maggie Lee, directed by Amy Poisson. This original new play was a semi-finalist in the 2018 Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and will be a produced in association with Theatre Off Jackson (409 7th Ave. S.), with performances from March 8 - 23, 2019.

Rocky Dawuni, the international music star/global ambassador and humanitarian activist, announces the release of his highly anticipated 7th studio album Beats of Zion, out March 8th, 2019 via Six Degrees Distribution. The thirteen-track set follows the GRAMMY nominated album Branches of the Same Tree, (“Best Reggae Album” in 2016) and expands Rocky's “Afro Roots” sound to include the diversity of the Ghanaian music scene and its current global outreach.

Two-time Tony Award-winning actress Christine Ebersole performs at the Huntington Theatre Company for one night only alongside SIRIUS/XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky as music director and host on Saturday, January 26 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.
