Scottish Ballet is delighted to announce the expansion of its Dance Health programme, with the addition of a brand-new initiative for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. Building on its pioneering work with people living with neurological conditions, Scottish Ballet will develop and deliver a programme of dance sessions, with the aim of improving the physical, mental and social wellbeing of those living with MS.

Interwoven with heartfelt personal life stories, A GENTLEMAN IN NEW YORK features songs from the musical theater cannon, the great American songbook, and top-40 pop classics-both new and old. New York City based composer/pianist Karl Hedrick serves as the Musical Director. Barrie Gelles serves as dramaturg and stage director.

The Revolutionists is a comedic play about four women who lived boldly in France during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe De Gouge, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, loose their heads and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793's Paris. What began as a hopeful revolution for the people of France and her colonies to address social and economic inequality is now sinking into hyper-violent extremist insanity. Opera Rara announced an important new partnership with Warner Classics who will assume worldwide distribution for Opera Rara recordings. The agreement includes all future recordings, together with Opera Rara's most recent releases: International Opera Award-winning recordings of Offenbach's Fantasio and Donizetti's Les Martyrs, and selected recordings of the extensive back catalogue of more than 85 recordings.

The Barbican today launches Life Rewired, an arts and learning season running throughout 2019 exploring what it means to be human in the face of technological and scientific forces that are dizzying in their speed, scale and complexity.

George Street Playhouse's Educational Touring Theatre, courtesy of support from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey and RWJBarnabas Health, will premiere a new musical about the opioid crisis and its impact on teens and families. This original musical was developed in response to the devastating impact prescription opioid misuse, heroin, and fentanyl have had on communities throughout New Jersey. Anytown will premiere on September 25, 2018 at George Street Playhouse as part of a special Spotlight Conference on Opioid Abuse.  The Spotlight Conference will feature a keynote address from New Jersey State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal along with workshops for educators, school administrators, and public health professionals conducted by experts in the field from RWJBarnabas Health's Institute for Prevention and Recovery.  

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to present White Outs, an exhibition by artist Eddie Martinez, which will be on view November 14, 2018 through February 17, 2019. Widely recognized for his large-scale paintings, Martinez has built a consistent body of work over the last decade, successfully merging the tradition of American abstract painting with the energy of the street. These paintings began as Sharpie drawings, then were blown-up, silkscreened, and painted over in a careful, yet unfailingly dynamic, process of layering and expansion. In these new works, created especially for this exhibition, Martinez introduces a new element to his process-the "whiting out" of parts of the composition. It is a move that represents a significant turning point in his career.

Even after the legalization of same-sex marriage in 2015, there is no shortage of hate surrounding the gay community. We are powerfully reminded of this in "Adam & Brian," a drama by Craig Donnelly that tells the story of New York City gay couple who are viciously attacked after leaving the movies one night. As they cope with the physical and emotional damage in the aftermath of their assault, their relationship begins to unravel, revealing the devastating potential of a few hateful individuals on the lives of others. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present "Adam & Brian" September 12 to September 16.

Baruch Performing Arts Center announces their 2018/2019 season, featuring premieres by composers Huang Ruo, Gregory Spears, and the late Matt Marks, and choreographer Dusan Týnek. After an incredible tour in 2017, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" announces the MST3K Live 30th Anniversary Tour featuring, for the first time in 25 years, original host and MST3K creator Joel Hodgson back in the red jumpsuit as Joel Robinson. Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company, with the support of Intersection for the Arts, presents the world premiere of Leah Nanako Winkler's TWO MILE HOLLOW directed by Lily Tung Crystal. Ferocious Lotus is proud to produce Winkler's work since she was announced as the 2018 winner of the coveted Yale Drama Series Prize for her new play, GOD SAID THIS, and the 2018-2019 Jerome Fellow at The Lark. MasterVoices - dedicated to the art of musical storytelling and the celebration of the human voice - presents a free performance of a new version of the dramatic oratorio Naamah's Ark by composer Marisa Michelson and librettist Royce Vavrek, on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Park. The event is produced in collaboration with the River To River Festival, presented by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), and Battery Park City Authority.
