ANNIE Teams with EIF to Support Arts Education for Underserved NYC Students

The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) in collaboration with Producer Eva Price and the Broadway revival of the Tony Award winning musical Annie announced a new collaboration to raise awareness and funds for arts education programs for underserved students throughout New York City.

ANNIE, the new production of the Tony Award-winning musical, will be celebrating 'World Book Night' on Tuesday, April 23. All Annie audience members at the Tuesday performance will receive a paperback book, courtesy of World Book Night, for them to pass on to a reluctant reader or a reader in need.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch, who stars in the hit FOX television show 'Glee' as ruthless cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, will take on another great tyrannical role as evil orphanage matron Miss Hannigan in the new Broadway production of Annie at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway between 46th and 47th Streets). Lynch, a stage veteran of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City, will be making her Broadway debut. Later this month on Thursday, January 24, Broadway's Palace Theatre will be visited by thousands of NYC public school students as the Great White Way's leading arts education not-for-profit Inside Broadway partners with the Broadway revival of Annie to offer two exclusive ‘Creating the Magic' events. Taking place at 10:45am and 1:15pm, the programs are being presented for free to over 2,500 New York City public school students as they get a behind the scenes look at the magical world of Broadway and learn about all the career opportunities in the theater.
