Guests will get a chance to rub elbows with former NFL players and get an exclusive sneak-peek at The Brand Signature Series production Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered - A Life of Vince Lombardi written by David Maraniss. The idea came from former Detroit Lion and Life After the Game founder, LaMar Campbell who thought this event would be a great way to support the arts in our community and bring awareness and support to the new Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center. Concussion safety and treatment is a topic near and dear to many current and former NFL stars and Mr. Campbell has thrown his full support behind this event. With that in mind, several former NFL greats scheduled to attend, including: David Greene (UGA & Seattle Seahawks), Chuck Smith (Atlanta Falcons), Matt Stinchcomb (UGA, Oakland Raiders & Tampa Bay Buccaneers), as well as Super Bowl Champions from the Green Bay Packers - Eric Matthews and Georgia Tech alum Dorsey Levens. And more are expected. Tickets include a VIP reception at the theatre at 7pm and the show beginning at 8pm. The cost to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event is just $25 and the proceeds benefit the Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center and Aurora Theatre.

The Brand Signature Series at Aurora Theatre continues with Lombardi by Eric Simonson, based on the book When Pride Still Mattered - A Life of Vince Lombardi written by David Maraniss. The show runs January 16 through February 9, 2014. Although football's Super Bowl trophy is named for him, few know the real story of Vince Lombardi - his inspirations, his passions and his ability to drive people to achieve what they never thought possible. In the play, a diligent young reporter named Michael McCormick takes us inside the life of this legendary icon. Lombardi ran on Broadway in 2010-2011 coinciding with Green Bay's championship run which culminated with the Packers being awarded the Lombardi trophy for their victory in Super Bowl XLV.

Lombardi swept onto Broadway in 2010 garnering strong reviews for Dan Lauria, who starred as the Green Bay Packers coach, and the play itself. Now, the Eagle Theatre of Hammonton, N.J., will become one of the first professional theatres in America to produce the play since it closed on Broadway when it runs from September 20 until October 12.
James Levine and The MET Orchestra return for their annual series at Carnegie Hall with three concerts this season in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The series launches onSunday, October 13 at 3:00 p.m. with mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato singing Rossini'sGiovanna d'Arco as well as arias from Mozart'sLa clemenza di Tito. Also on the program are Verdi's Overture to I vespri Siciliani, Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A Major, and Elliott Carter's Variations for Orchestra. Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced today that multi-award-winning actor Hollis Resnik will perform the lead role in End of the Rainbow, a theatrical homage to the late, great Judy Garland. An accomplished stage, television and film actor, Resnik brings the depth of acting and musical experience to portray the iconic Garland as well as the emotional intensity and high energy that the role demands. End of the Rainbow runs from January 7 - March 9 and opens on Friday, January 10 on The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse main stage theater.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Kenneth Lin's Warrior Class. Kenneth Lin is a staff writer on Netflix's House of Cards and the creator of a new limited series, American Way, for USA Networks. Warrior Class, which won the Theatre Communications Group Edgerton New Play Prize, is directed by Wilson Milam and runs May 3 through June 2, 2013 on the Neuhaus Stage.
In honor of this year's Verdi bicentennial, there will be a number of upcoming opportunities to hear her perform the great Italian composer's music. The first of these takes place this Monday, April 8, when Meade - winner of the 2011 Richard Tucker and 2012 Beverly Sills Awards - stars as Giselda in a concert performance of I Lombardi at New York's Lincoln Center.
