The Academy of American Poets is pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 American Poets Prizes, which are among the most valuable and venerable poetry prizes in the United States. Nine revolting children take center stage in the San Diego Regional Premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical at the Moonlight Amphitheatre July 17 through August 3 at 8 p.m. The Tony Award-winning musical is inspired by the twisted genius of British author Roald Dahl (novels Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG among others; and the screenplays of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and is brought to life on The Moonlight stage by the creative team of Director Jamie Torcellini, Choreographer Colleen Kollar Smith, and Music Director and Conductor Elan McMahan

Normal Ave is proud to announce its 2019-20 season. The season will kick off October 3, 2019 with the world premiere of Of the woman came the beginning of sin and through her we all die by Lily Houghton, directed by Kylie M. Brown. Following will be another world premiere: Indoor Person by Kayla Martine, directed by Andrew Garrett, which begins performances February 19, 2020. The season will finish with The Book of Grace by Suzan-Lori Parks, directed by Shariffa Ali, which returns to New York for the first time since the 2010 run at The Public. The Parks revival begins performances April 23, 2020. Casts and creative teams will be announced at a later date.

This summer Goodspeed Musicals will produce the heartwarming new musical Because of Winn Dixie. This touching tale based on the award-winning novel by Kate DiCamillo will run June 28 - September 1 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

The Academy of American Poets has announced that thirteen poets who serve as poets laureate of states, cities, and counties across the U.S. will receive a combined $1,050,000 in recognition of their literary merit and to support civic programs, which will take place over the next twelve months.

Closing out the Town Hall Theatre 2018/19 Lost & Found Season with a bang is WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, a sizzling musical farce of female resilience, with book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek, based on the Academy Award nominated film by Pedro Almod var. The Public Theater announced today a two-week extension of the world premiere of WHITE NOISE, written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks. Oskar Eustis directs this fierce new drama that began performances on Tuesday, March 5 in The Public's Anspacher Theater and will now run through Sunday, May 5, with an official press opening on Wednesday, March 20.

Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tonight attended Cirque du Soleil's premiere of TOTEM at the Royal Albert Hall to raise vital funds and awareness for The Duke's charity, Sentebale which helps youth affected by HIV in southern Africa.
