Sherman will open at Sydney's Capitol Theatre from tonight, 16th of November. Bob Carey's New Book BALLERINA, to Fight Breast Cancer, Released Today, Sept 15

Photographer Bob Carey's much anticipated compilation of self-portraits in a tutu is now available. Ballerina, a hard cover 9 x 12 book with a foreword by Amy Arbus, showcases color photographs and back-stories about the journey behind the images. The captured images present both impertinent playfulness and vulnerability, themes that run thoughout much of Carey's work. The project has taken Carey from Italy to Times Square, and he hopes to turn the photos of himself into an inspirational force behind breast cancer awareness. Net proceeds from the sale of Ballerina will go directly to The Carey Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Carey and his wife Lindato provide support to women diagnosed with breast cancer and their family members.

Bond Street Theatre Continues Social Development Project with Afghanistan's Kandahar Theatre

Live theatre is an excellent way to bring information to isolated areas of Afghanistan. Bond Street Theatre has been working with theatre companies throughout Afghanistan to promote theatre as a means to carry specific news about women's rights, civic issues, health and other issues to areas with high illiteracy (90% for women, 63% for men, UN Report). The company leaves this week to continue its mission to revitalize the theatrical arts and especially, to train more women to take the stage so they can reach all-female audiences.

Eight conducting fellows from across the U.S. and Canada have been selected by the Carnegie Hall Choral Institute and the Young People's Chorus of New York City to take part in the Transient Glory Symposium, led by 2011 MacArthur Fellow and symposium artistic director Francisico J.
