Just before the doors opened, the traditional ceremonial first bet was made by musician Mayer Hawthorne. In a first-ever innovation for the legendary Las Vegas entertainment scene, the opening-night concert was simulcast on The Cosmopolitan's marquee, meaning passersby on the Las Vegas Strip were be able to watch the concert live on the 65-foot-tall LED-display marquee.

It took me more than five years of being in Las Vegas but I finally saw Frank Marino's show. The city's best-known, and longest-running, drag performer is now in Divas Las Vegas at the Imperial Palace. The very special occasion the night I saw it was the celebration of Marino's 25 years as a Las Vegas Strip headliner.
TVNZ reports that Cheryl Crow may be at work on a Broadway score for a stage adaptaton of the film, Diner. The songstress recently contributed a strip-tease number to the New York stage show. Revealing few details, Crow remarked: 'A friend of mine has asked me to write the music for the Broadway musical version of the film 'Diner...' There's a scene where these three women do a striptease and I came up with the music for it. It's so good I could strip to it. And I'm 48.'

In celebration of the highly anticipated BROADWAY BARES: STRIP-OPOLY on Sunday, June 20, series creator Jerry Mitchell was the featured guest on Seth's Broadway Chatterbox on Thursday, June 17th, at 6:00 PM.
While there, Mitchell talked about all of his current slate of projects. Among them, Mitchell has just redone the opening number of LOVE NEVER DIES, featuring bearded ladies and other 'freaks' with a new song while making other trims throughout the show.
The highly-anticipated CATCH ME IF YOU CAN will have a reading next week with 'amazing' new material and the same leads that played the show from Seattle (Kerry Butler, Norbert Leo Butz, Aaoron Tveit and Tom Wopat). The chorus has been expanded from 4 girls to 10 amongst other changes. The show is prepping for January rehearsals for a Broadway bow.
Mitchell also just directed a reading of BALLROOM with Tyne Daly that he is directing and developing for a hopeful 2011 production.

Broadway's triple threat Rick Faugno (pronounced Fawn-Yo) will reprise his critically-acclaimed one-man song and dance show, "Songs My Idols Sang (And Danced!)," due to popular demand on Sunday, March 21, at 3 p.m. in the 400-seat South Point Casino Showroom. He'll also be selling his new CD at the performance.
