God of Carnage is a comedy of manners without the manners. The play deals with the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it.
On July 27, 2009 the production began a six-week summer hiatus. Performances resumed September 8.

Ken Stott returns to GOD OF CARNAGE after creating the role of 'Michael' in the West End production. Stott is appearing with the support of Actors' Equity Association. The producers gratefully acknowledge Actors' Equity Association for its assistance of this production.

Director Roman Polanski is currently working on a film adaptation of Yasmina Reza's play, GOD OF CARNAGE, currently appearing on Broadway. In the current French issue of Elle Magazine, Polanski's wife, Emmanuelle Seigner, said he is currently working on the script while on house arrest in Gstaad, Switzerland.

There's a fine, fine line... No, let me rephrase that. There's a wide gaping canyon between clever social commentary and unmotivated slapstick. And while I'm not suggesting that Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage had me longing for the subtle nuances of Messrs. The entire production took a 6 week summer hiatusto allow the cast to fulfill previously scheduled family commitments. The production, starring Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden will resume performances tonight, Tuesday, September 8 and continue through Sunday, November 15 with the current award winning ensemble.
