FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, will make its Segerstrom Center premiere May 7 - 19, 2013.

On October 23, 1983, a terrorist slammed a truck packed with thousands of pounds of explosives into a barracks where U.S. Marine peacekeepers were sleeping in Beirut, Lebanon. More than 240 military men died as a result of the dawn attack, the heaviest loss of life in a single incident involving U.S. servicemen since the Vietnam War.

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) is hosting a Dress for Success clothing drive during the run of their show EDUCATING RITA, a comedy by Willy Russell. Russell's play triggered a conversation that ultimately brought RTW, the YWCA and the W Girls together. The drive will run along with the production, January 18 - February 10, 2013, at the Studio Theatre, Broadway Theatre Center (Milwaukee).

The New School for Drama has announced that BAFTA Award-winning English playwright, director and screenwriter Sir David Hare will serve as distinguished Artist-in-Residence for one week beginning today, November 12, 2012.

Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. The producers of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 smash hit movie that defined a generation, have just announced that the production will arrive on Broadway in August 2013 with a theater, dates and casting to be announced.

The New York Times is reporting that Alec Baldwin will return to Broadway in the Spring of 2013 in a new production of OPRHANS, to be directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. There is no word yet on a theatre or additional cast members for the production.

Private Lives will open Saturday, February 18. The production will run through March 25. The show was originally scheduled to start previews February 2 and run through March 11.

Uncle Vanya was part of Chichester's very first season in 1962 and became a key part of its history and is revisited during Festival 2012.
