BETRAYAL originally premiered at London's National Theatre in 1978 and was immediately hailed as one of Pinter's masterworks, winning the 1979 Olivier Award for Best New Play. Emma is married to Robert, a publisher, but she has long had an affair with Jerry, a literary agent and Robert's best friend; as, in a brilliant device, time is regained, so the full complexity of their relationships comes to light.

Official: GROUNDHOG DAY Musical to Cast Broadway Shadow in 2017!

Director Matthew Warchus, composer and lyricist Tim Minchin, choreographer Peter Darling, and designer Rob Howell, four of the creators of the international musical sensation Matilda, The Musical, have joined forces with writer Danny Rubin to collaborate on a new musical based on the 1993 hit film GROUNDHOG DAY, scheduled to begin previews Monday, January 23, 2017 and open on Broadway on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its London Premiere, Capital Stage continues its 10th Anniversary Season with THE HOMECOMING, by Nobel Laureate Harold Pinter. Winner of the 1967 Tony Award for Best Play, THE HOMECOMING exposes issues of sex and power and challenges the place of morals in family life. Capital Stage Associate Artist and prolific director Janis Stevens (THE REAL THING, HEDDA GABLER, HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, AMERICAN BUFFALO, FOOL FOR LOVE) directs. THE HOMECOMING will run from April 29 through May 31, with a Press Opening on Saturday May 2, 2015.

Marcelo Gomes to Lead UK's THE CARMAN at Sadler's Wells, July 14

New Adventures are delighted to announce that international ballet superstar, Marcelo Gomes will guest star as 'Luca', the title role in the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning dance thriller "THE CAR MAN" during the four week summer season at Sadler's Wells from 14 July to 9 August 2015. He will alternate the role with the previously announced Jonathan Ollivier and Chris Trenfield; all three dancers worked together last year, sharing the role of 'The Swan' when Marcelo Gomes made his debut with New Adventures in the Tokyo Season of Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. Artistic Director of London Classic Theatre Michael Cabot today announces the full cast for the company's production of Alan Ayckbourn's Absent Friends as part of their 15th Anniversary season. Cabot directs Ashley Cook (Colin), John Dorney (John), Kevin Drury (Paul), Catherine Harvey (Diana), Kathryn Ritchie (Evelyn) and Alice Selwyn (Marge). The tour opens at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne with a press night on 29 April and will tour to a total of 16 venues. There will be a second press night at Richmond Theatre on 15 June.

As the world reflects on the centennial of World War I, Horizon Theatre Rep presents 'Culture Shock 1911-1922,' an evening of German Expressionist plays that were born of the age that gave birth to it. The production, conceived and directed by Rafael De Mussa, includes 'Sancta Susanna' (1911) by August Stramm, translated by Henry Marx; 'The Guardian of the Tomb' (1916) by Franz Kafka (Kafka's only play), translated by J. M. Ritchie; 'The Transfiguration' (1919) by Ernst Toller, translated by Edward Crankshaw; 'Ithaka' (1914) by Gottfried Benn, translated by J.M. Ritchie and 'Crucifixion' (1920) by Lothar Schreyer, translated by Mel Gordon. Performances will be today, September 4 to 21 (opens September 7) at Access Theater, 380 Broadway in TriBeCa.
