Margaret Braverman, a 60-year-old physicist teaching at a small college, can't help but regret the things she never quite got right. Most of all was the tragic ending of her romance with her brilliant colleague Frank, something she's never gotten over it. Then there is the prospect of restoring the respect of her colleagues after an unfortunate incident where she set her hair on fire. And, of course, it would be glorious to get even with that mean-spirited, conceited, womanizing chairman of her department, Caleb Winter.

Lola Akingbola Shares 8 WEEKS TO LONGER HAIR
by Christina Mancuso - Aug 9, 2013

What is the cost of beautiful hair? According to a survey conducted by a major manufacturer of hair care products, the average British woman spends about £27,722.52 (about $42,000) on her hair throughout her lifetime. This is not a small number but justifiable by the fact that more and more women regard their hair as their crowning glory. For Lola Akingbola, author of 8 Weeks to Longer Hair!: A Guide for the Afro-Caribbean Woman, hair care is more than just buying products or services; it became a personal statement, her way of embracing her natural Nigerian kinks and curls and declaring to others that curly hair can be just as healthy, strong and long as other hair types.

BWW Reviews: Enduring SOUTH PACIFIC Offers Enchanted Evening at Moonlight Amphitheatre
by Don Grigware - Jun 28, 2013

Like The King and I, Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific is a heartbreaking story told across racial borders and has an elegant score. The look in its rich set design - from the original 2008 Broadway/Lincoln Center revival with an incredible, dreamlike Bali Ha'i in the background, setting the romantic tone for the entire show, adds so much to the current production at Moonlight Amphitheatre.

BWW Reviews: FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL is Lackluster Despite Abundant Dance Spectacles
by David Clarke - Jun 5, 2013

The hugely popular 1983 film Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals, received a musical facelift and had its world premiere in July 2008 at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. Following a UK Tour, FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICAL opened on London's West End in late 2010. However, the show closed earlier than expected on January 15, 2011. By December 2011, the musical was slated for a Broadway opening in Fall 2012. Ambitiously, the creative teams also announced a second company that would tour the show starting in 2013. The First National Tour of FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICAL kicked off in Pittsburgh on January 1, 2013, giving the show it's second World Premiere of sorts because the re-envisioned production of title features new songs, a new book, a new creative team, and a different physical production. The musical has been on a whirlwind tour and has dates booked through May 4, 2014. Yet, the Broadway opening has been postponed to an unspecified date later in the 2013-2014 Broadway season.

BWW Reviews: Ballet's Greatest Hits: YAGP Gala
by Barnett Serchuk - Apr 3, 2013

I recently attended a performance of La Bayadere. The dancing was excellent, but the music by Ludwig Minkus was excruciating. I realize that it has a jump, a bounce, danceable adagio notes, but after three hours of listening to it my head was spinning. I went home intending to wash Minkus out of both my hair and brain by listening to every note that Shostakovich and Prokofiev ever wrote. If I want to hear music, let's not settle for anything less than best and, many times, the brilliant.
