In honor of the show's eleventh anniversary of becoming part of Broadway's world, we're flashing back to its 2008 opening night at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre!

On this day in 2008, Lincoln Center Theater's lavish new production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's prize-winning musical SOUTH PACIFIC, directed by Bartlett Sher, opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. 

Helping Adam launch the show were Orange is the New Black's Annie Golden ('Norma Romano') and Lin Tucci ('Anita DeMarco'), plus Broadway's Lauren Elder (revivals of Hair & Side Show), and award-winning composer/lyricist Bobby Cronin (forthcoming Mary & Max). Emmy Award-winning actor and star of 'Blue Bloods' Tom Selleck stopped by last night's LATE SHOW and explained to Stephen Colbert why his facial hair has its own agent.

LATE SHOW host Stephen Colbert kicked off his week-long journey though the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia with a trippy song and dance number, reminiscent of Broadway's HAIR.

On last night's LATE SHOW, Stephen's a touch hung over so Bobby Flay makes him a medicinal fried-chicken-and-egg biscuit with some hair of the dog on the side.

Stephen and David Schwimmer were in an improv group in college together, but their hair was really something to see.

To round out its 65th season, Music Circus presents HAIR, the groundbreaking musical that defined a generation and introduced rock 'n' roll to Broadway. Set against a backdrop of the Vietnam era, a group of late 1960s youth join a social revolution and 'Let the Sun Shine In.' Below, we bring you Patina Miller, Best Lead Actress in a Musical nominee for Sister Act. Miller is best known for originating the role of the disco diva wannabe Deloris Van Cartier in the 2009 West End run, which she has now transferred to Broadway. She performed in a Central Park production of Hair in the summer of 2008 and was featured in the musical Romantic Poetry at the Manhattan Theatre Club that fall. In 2007, she was cast in All My Children and appeared in 30 episodes of the daytime soap opera.

The New Broadway Cast Recording of Gypsy will be released on Tuesday August 26th, 2008. The recording session took place at Manhattan's Clinton Recording Studios and BroadwayWorld TV was there to capture all the excitement as the historic event took place.
