Japan Society, as part of its Fall 2012/Spring 2013 Performing Arts Season, proudly presents Macbeth, a production of Shakespeare's play directed by and starring internationally acclaimed traditional kyogen actor and one of Japan's most celebrated stage, film and television stars, Mansai Nomura. This production of Macbeth plays two performances only at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street): Saturday, March 23 at 7:30pm and Sunday, March 24 at 5:00pm.

William Shakespeare's most horrific and bloody tragedy, MACBETH, is getting an update via a new all-African American feature film adaptation, with no less than Terrence Howard and Sanaa Lathan headlining the cast.

Maggie Siff plays Beatrice and Jonathan Cake Benedick in Theatre for a New Audience's new production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Arin Arbus, opening tonight, February 17, at 3:00pm at The Duke on 42nd Street, 229 West 42nd Street.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival recently announced the casting of the first eight actors for the 2013 season. All are familiar faces, having appeared at the Festival in the past. Actors slated to appear thus far are Corey Jones, Melinda Parrett, Henry Woronicz, Roderick Peeples, Melinda Pfundstein, Quinn Mattfeld, David Ivers, and Barbara Bednarczuk.

Cutting Ball Theater continues its 14th season with Eugene Ionesco's THE CHAIRS, in a new translation by Rob Melrose. This tragic farce, in the tradition of Cutting Ball's hit productions of Ionesco's The Bald Soprano (2010) and Victims of Duty (2008), is as comedic as it is heartbreaking. The limited engagement will run at the Lansburgh Theatre, 450 7th St. NW, in Washington, D.C. from Wednesday, December 19 through Sunday, December 23; Wednesday, December 26 through Sunday, December 30, 2012; and new dates have been added from Wednesday, January 2 through Sunday, January 6, 2013. Fort Worth Opera revealed today the names of the composers whose works have been selected for participation in the first season of the company's exciting, annual new works program, Frontiers, making its debut May 6 - 11, 2013.
