James McAvoy will star in Shakespeare's MACBETH at Trafalgar Studio One for a strictly limited season from 09 February until 27 April 2013. The Glasgow-born McAvoy will make good use of his roots in his performance as the fearsome Scottish king, re-imagined in post-apocalyptic separatist Scotland. The film star is best known for his work in Atonement, The Last King of Scotland and the X-Men franchise
MACBETH will be directed by the Olivier Award winner Jamie Lloyd, whose previous credits include Passion (Donmar Warehouse), The Pride (Royal Court) and Cyrano de Bergerac on Broadway.
In what is perhaps Shakespeare’s darkest tragedy, Macbeth’s crusade of pathological ambition and struggle for power explores the corrosive potential of the human mind, and exposes the ugliness of a society brutalized by war and tyranny.

Young actor Sam Poon is turning thirteen years old, and instead of a party, he is returning to St. Louis from NYC to perform in a show with many of his friends to raise money for the hospital that saved his life as an infant. Sam suffered from pertussis (whooping cough) and was septic as a young infant, and suffered a cardiac arrest. The doctors and nurses at SSM Cardinal Glennon saved his life. Rather than receiving gifts for his first teenage birthday, he would much rather give a gift to the children cared for by SSM Cardinal Glennon.

To close its 47th Season, Marin Theatre Company will produce the West Coast premiere of Failure: A Love Story by the 'hugely talented Chicago writer' (Chicago Tribune) Philip Dawkins. The Snow Queen:The New Musical that made its world premiere at San Jose Repertory Theatre last December, is an 'Official Selection of the 2014 New York Musical Theatre Festival,' the most prestigious musical theatre festival in the world.
