'Amadeus' is set two hundred and fifty years ago in the count of the Austrian Emperor and details an ongoing confrontation between Antonio Salieri, the mediocre but established court composer and the volatile Mozart. Salieri displays his jealousy and hatred during the course of the play as he attempts to destroy and discredit Mozart.



This classic tale of genius vs. mediocrity is a historical masterpiece and was the winner of both a Tony and Oscar for best play and movie.

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) will present Opera for Kids: The Three Little Pigs on Sunday, March 18, at 1:00 p.m. in the Recital Hall at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), 38 Main Street. Northern Stage, considered one of the most prestigious and fastest-growing regional theaters in New England, presents the Tony Award winning play, Red, March 14- April 21. Red was first produced at the 250-seat Donmar Warehouse in London in December 2009, starring Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. The production transferred to Broadway's John Golden Theatre, with the same cast, for a limited run, from March 11 - June 27, 2010. It picked up six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction, and Best Performance by a Featured Actor (Redmayne), as well as three Drama Desk Awards, including Best Play.

Bramwell Tovey will lead the New York Philharmonic at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in a program of works by Bernstein, Gershwin, and Tchaikovsky, Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Canadian soprano Tracy Dahl will be the soloist in the coloratura aria, "Glitter and Be Gay" from Bernstein's Candide, along with songs by Gershwin, including "The Man I Love" and "Fascinatin' Rhythm," arranged by Mr. Tovey. Also on the program are Three Dance Episodes from Bernstein's On the Town, and two works by Tchaikovsky: music from Act IV of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, and the 1812 Overture.
