Hennepin Theatre Trust will launch its tenth round of Made Here with Avenues: Made Here on Wednesday, June 20. Avenues: Made Here commemorates and reflects upon the last five years of Made Here by showcasing a collection of previous Made Here artists that have participated since its inception in 2013.

THE ENGLISH BEAT starring Dave Wakeling return with their first studio album since 1982.  Set for release on June 15, 2018, HERE WE GO LOVE is a brand-new collection of 13 vital songs that have their feet in the here and now, but lose none of the fire and frenzy of those timeless immediate classics that made the band's name.  

The 2018 Moontower Comedy Festival is excited to reveal the full schedule and talent lineup for the festival April 18–21 in Austin. This marks the seventh year for the premiere comedy celebration which will welcome over 100 performers in stand-up, musical comedy and more as well as 11 hilarious live podcasts and broadcasts from all over the country to stages in the heart of the city. New to the already stellar EF2018 lineup - both weekends will host Mt. Joy, Dub Trio, CharlestheFirst, Kidswaste, ProbCause, and others. Additions to the First Weekend include Thundercat, Falcons, Mount Kimbie, Tsuruda, Stickybuds, Star Kitchen featuring Marc Brownstein, Supernatural Beings featuring Joel Cummins, Kris Myers, Marcus Rezak, and Hash Vyas, and more. Second Weekend welcomes BOOGIE T.RIO (LIVE BAND), Claptone, Elderbrook, Tennis Jacket featuring Marc Brownstein and Jeremy Salken, and others. Second weekend also sees London jazz veteran and saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings bring his cosmic jazz trio, The Comet is Coming across the pond for the very first time. Goodspeed Musicals is thrilled to announce three enticing productions planned for Chester, Conn. in 2018. First will be the inspiring You Are Here by Drama Desk Award nominees Bartram and Hill. This soaring musical will run May 18 - June 10. Next up will be a new musical adaptation of the enduring love story Cyrano. This exciting new take on the classic will be adapted by Erica Schmidt in collaboration with the indie band The National. Cyrano will run August 3 - September 2. Finally, A Connecticut Christmas Carol, a musical adaptation of the Dickens holiday classic spiced with the flavor of the Nutmeg State, returns to The Terris Theatre November 30 - December 30, 2018.

From Here to Eternity Falls Short in New Musical Version

As a centerpiece of its 25th anniversary season, HERE (Kristin Marting, Artistic Director and Kim Whitener, Producing Director) will present the world premiere commission of Thomas Paine in Violence by 2016-17 HERE resident artist Paul Pinto (thingNY, Varispeed, Robert Ashley) and directed by Obie-winner Rick Burkhardt (Here Be Sirens, Three Pianos, Nonsense Company).

HERE proudly announces its 2017-2018 producing season, marking the 25th Anniversary of this award-winning, boundary-stretching institution.  The 2017-2018 HERE lineup features three HERE Resident Artist world premieres; the world premiere of a HERE Artistic Director production by Kristin Marting; innovative works from the Dream Music Puppetry Program including a revival of Symphonie Fantastique by Basil Twist, internationally acclaimed artist and Artistic Director of HERE's Dream Music Puppetry Program; the sixth annual PROTOTYPE: Opera/Theatre/Now festival, and HERE's yearly CULTUREMART festival, where HERE serves up a first look at new work in process from artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP).  The multidisciplinary productions in HERE's milestone 2017-2018 season represent the culmination of commissions and developmental residencies of up to three years in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP) and/or the Dream Music Puppetry Program.  

A combination of professional actors - including a local steelworker - and a community cast from Port Talbot will be performing in National Theatre Wales & Common Wealth's We're Still Here. This new production tackles one of the biggest symbols of Wales' industrial past and present; the Port Talbot steelworks.

The Mynabirds have announced their new album BE HERE NOW which will be released over the course of the summer on three EPs each featuring three songs, and out in full on August 25 via Saddle Creek. To celebrate, Billboard has premiered the first track “Cocoon,” which appears on the first EP release out June 30.

'We're here because we're here', the modern memorial to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, created by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller in collaboration with Rufus Norris, Artistic Director of the National Theatre, has been nominated for a prestigious National Lottery Award.
