This week, Go Comedy! Improv Theatre celebrates its 10-year anniversary. The award-winning improv theater will host special Go Comedy! reunion shows and All Star Showdowns that will welcome back original cast members from the past decade. These NYC subway buskers made their Connecticut debut at the MAC last Spring after being discovered in January by  New York Nico, the self proclaimed 'Unofficial talent scout of New York City.' Blac Rabbit stuns viewers and audiences with their authentic Beatles covers. This month, while in Central Park, Blac Rabbit received a thumbs up from Ringo.

To acknowledge the Summer of 2018, Young Pals Music has released the new single 'Where Do You Want To Be Tomorrow' along with its music video (click here). This marks the eight release accompanied by the music video from the upcoming album 'Pop,' the first full-length namesake collection from New York City-based songwriter & producer Ayhan Sahin. The joyous chug-along song hints at the best of 70's acoustic rock, with the insistent snap of percussion, a cascading fan of acoustic guitars, and a surprising injection of horns that help propel the infectious beat to toe-tapping bliss. Hearing 'Where Do You Want To Be Tomorrow,' ELO's Jeff Lynne would most certainly offer an affirming thumbs up. The album 'Pop' features 12+ diverse vocalists & musicians across a myriad of styles, including R&B & soul, dance, jazz, country and of course...pop. All songs are co-written and co-produced by Sahin with hit songwriter Bernadette O'Reilly, who has also worked for three decades in artist relations, management and song placement. Among the songs released under 'Pop' are Randy Jones' dance club anthem, 'Hard Times' that launched at No. 42, as the second-highest entry among five new songs on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, for the week of August 26, 2017 with Jones being the only member of the Village People to score a solo hit. Previous single 'Another Bad Mistake' featured lead vocals from beloved disco act Anita Ward, renowned for her seminal No. 1 'Ring My Bell,' which hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Disco, and Soul Singles charts in 1979. The album 'Pop' is the first namesake project for award-winning Turkish-born songwriter & producer Sahin. With tickets selling like hot cakes in all other cities, Frontier Comedy is happy to add a Brisbane date to prodigious sports satirist and best-selling author Titus O'Reily's (Herald Sun, Channel 7, Nova 100) national tour. Ramos' very clever, contemporary script (lots of screen grabs of texting and emojis) weaves a sometimes funny, sometimes heart-warming, always real tale of Benji, a gay Asian-American comic book artist and his close family of friends.

Living legend Carol Channing is getting a one-of-a-kind tribute made up of over 50,000 fingerprints and videos, spawned after the success of the Harvey Milk project in San Francisco. Artist Khoi Nguyen is doing a series of prolific painting/installations of icons like Harvey Milk and Carol Channing that involves interactive technology and consists of thousands of fingerprints from celebrities to the homeless as participants.

Chris Leask has reprised the role of Everybody Else in The Comedy About a Bank Robbery. We met up at the Criterion Theatre and a hilarious interview ensued.

'This is the story of my career... I have worked my way up. I am not someone who got out of college and got handed the plum Broadway roles. I started as an understudy. I started in the ensemble. I was on a non-Equity tour, then I got to Broadway after a year in Toronto with Hairspray and eighteen months on tour. I'm playing the long game and I think that has made me a better actor and company member.'

The Gamm Theatre closes its fifteen year run in Pawtucket with Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT, so it was with mixed emotions that I turned right onto Exchange St. last Saturday, for the last time to be squeezed into the lyric, little bandbox of a theater. Fear not, theatergoers, they're not going away, just going to Warwick, where I trust they will continue to produce some of the most entertaining, interesting and thought provoking theater you can find. They chose to go out with Shakespeare and once again have found a new way to look at a play and led us to a new way to look at reality. It's what they do there.

Let me start off by saying that Heddatron is not a show that most community theaters would choose for a regular season. It is an Absurdist drama that would have a hard time attracting a general audience. Nevertheless, it is a mesmerizing piece of drama with some unique facets that make it an engaging drama for enthusiasts of theatre. First produced in 2005, it's defining characteristic is the use of 'functioning robots' or at least the semblance of such.
