Signature Theatre Honors Bernadette Peters at Spring Gala, 4/11

On April 11, 2011, Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre will honor esteemed stage and screen actress Bernadette Peters with the company's second Stephen Sondheim Award. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer, will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The 2011 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by Ted and Mary Jo Shen; Honorary Hosts include Stephen Sondheim, Helen Henderson, His Excellency Gary Doer and Ms. Ginny Devine, The Honorable James Moran, His Excellency Giulio Terzi and Ms. Antonella Cinque, and The Honorable Jim Webb and Mrs. Webb. The Sondheim Award Gala will help to benefit Signature Theatre's numerous artistic, education, and community programs. Last year's recipient was stage, screen, and television icon Angela Lansbury.
Olney Theatre Center Extends JOSEPH.. Through April 3

For a second time, the Helen Hayes Awards Recommended© Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Olney Theatre Center has been extended - to Sunday, April 3. The performances during the extension week are Thursday, March 31 through Saturday, April 2 at 8 p.m., and matinees on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m.

A studio cast recording of Winter Wonderettes, the holiday sequel to the hit off-Broadway musical The Marvelous Wonderettes is now available from LML Music at LMLmusic.com. The album features 19 Christmas classics sung by four Los Angeles stage favorites that helped make productions of the show artistic and financial successes across the country. Aspects of Love previews from 07 July with press night on 15 July and is running until 26 September. Designs are by David Farley with choreography by Lynne Page, lighting by Paul Pyant, musical supervision by Caroline Humphris, orchestrations by David Cullen and sound by Gareth Owen. Trevor Nunn previously directed the world premiere of Aspects of Love and returns to the piece to direct this new intimate version.
