Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced the complete cast for its upcoming production of the new musical THE BLUE FLOWER: Sebastian Arcelus (Buddy in Elf, Wicked, Jersey Boys), Marc Kudisch (Three-time Tony Award nominee for 9 to 5, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Thoroughly Modern Millie), Meghan McGeary (The Blue Flower at A.R.T.), Joseph Medeiros (Irving Berlin's White Christmas), Julia Osborne (National Tour of South Pacific), Graham Rowat (Guys and Dolls), Aaron Serotsky (August: Osage County), and Teal Wicks (Elphaba in Wicked).

Michael O’Donnell Directs PLUCK THE DAY at American Theatre of Actors, Opens 9/8

Michael O'Donnell (Cabaret, Spamalot, The Pajama Game, Victor/Victoria, Carousel) will direct Chris Dall'au, Jake Keefe, Lucy Sheftall (Project Shaw), and Danny Skinner. The show will open September 8th and run for a limited 14 performance run at the American Theatre of Actors.

Hershey Felder Returns to the Old Globe in July

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the return of actor, playwright and Steinway concert artist Hershey Felder in a trio of his critically-acclaimed solo shows. Hershey Felder as George Gershwin Alone delighted San Diego audiences in 2006 and 2008 and due to popular demand will be revived for 13 performances from July 1 - 10. Felder will lead audiences on a musical journey through a century of American music in Hershey Felder in Concert: The Great American Songbook Sing-Along from July 11 - 17. The latest addition to Felder's ambitious 'Composers Sonata,' Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein, will receive its Globe debut from July 22 - Aug. 28. Previews run July 22 - July 28. Opening night is July 29. Both George Gershwin Alone and Maestro are directed by Joel Zwick. All three events will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell has been announced as the director/choreographer of the Hollywood Bowl's production of HAIRSPRAY, the 2003 winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, in addition to holding the record as the 20th longest running show in Broadway history. Lon Hoyt has been announced as the musical director of the production. Mitchell was the original choreographer of Hairspray on Broadway, and Hoyt was the original musical director of the Broadway production.
