New Amsterdam Singers Will Present THROUGH THE SEASONS

New Amsterdam Singers (NAS), led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, will present Through the Seasons, featuring Robert Paterson's 'I Go Among Trees' - a World Premiere commissioned by NAS in honor of its 50th anniversary. The three-movement work by the New York-based award-winning composer is written for chorus and marimba on texts by Wendell Berry, May Sarton, and John Freeman; Makoto Nakura is the marimba soloist. The concert will be performed twice: Friday, March 20, 2020, at 8:00 pm at Broadway Presbyterian Church, Broadway at 114th Street, and Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 4:00 pm at The Theater of St. Jean Baptiste, 184 East 76th St.

Art enthusiasts gathered last night (May 22) at Montalvo Arts Center for an exclusive members-only unveiling of its 2019-2020 Carriage House Theatre Concert Series line-up. The historic Silicon Valley venue announced a thrilling roster of performers from Meow Meow to The Second City, from Pablo Cruise to Loudon Wainwright III, tributes to The Beatles, Cream, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and an appearance by NPR's hit radio show and podcast "Selected Shorts." The season launches in October, offering a stellar line-up of theatre, comedy, magic, Grammy Award nominees/winners performing jazz, bluegrass, pop, rock, classical, new age, folk, Hawaiian music, and more. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for the world premiere of Kiss My Aztec! John Leguizamo teams up with Artistic Director Tony Taccone for this musical comedy, following their collaboration on the hit one-man show Latin History for Morons, which received its world premiere at Berkeley Rep before heading to Broadway. Ford's Theatre Society announced that audiences and the company of A Christmas Carol raised $100,777.76 for the Homeless Children's Playtime Project during performances of this season's A Christmas Carol. This year's funds raised brings the company's 10-year totals to $836,600.29 for D.C. charities, aiding the thousands within the D.C.-area who struggle with illness, homelessness and hunger.

Ford's Theatre Names Homeless Children's Playtime Project Recipient Of 2018 Donation Drive

Ford's Theatre Society announced that the company of the 2018 production of "A Christmas Carol" has selected D.C.'s Homeless Children's Playtime Project as recipient of this year's donation drive inspired by the themes of charity in Dickens's holiday classic. The Homeless Children's Playtime Project partners with homeless shelters in Washington, D.C., to create safe and fun play spaces for the children where they live. Their trauma-informed programs help restore normalcy by providing opportunities for children to learn and heal through play, and empower children to make choices, express themselves, build friendships and find support.

Judy Kuhn and More Will Lead Menier Chocolate Factory's Revival Of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces principal company for its major revival of one of the world's most-beloved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof, in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. Joining the previously announced Andy Nyman (Tevye) is Judy Kuhn as Golde, with Harriet Bunton (Hodel), Dermot Canavan (Lazar Wolf), Stewart Clarke (Perchik), Matt Corner (Fyedka), Joshua Gannon (Motel), Louise Gold (Yente), Kirsty MacLaren (Chava) and Molly Osborne (Tzeitel).
