North Carolina Theatre Conservatory, NC Theatre's flagship training program offering professional instruction in acting, voice and dance for ages three to adult, is excited to bring to the stage their production of Oklahoma!, July 7-9, 2017, at the A.J. Fletcher Opera Theater in downtown Raleigh. The show will be produced by the students of NC Theatre Conservatory's Master Summer Theatre Arts School, NC Theatre's four-week summer camp with emphasis on pre-professional training of the highest caliber culminating in a full-scale musical production. Students range in age from middle school to rising college students. This production also features a "kids chorus" of elementary school aged children.

A lot of Gershwin tunes - and that's what audiences will get with the delightful musical CRAZY FOR YOU at Theatre in the Park beginning Friday, June 16 for a seven-performance run.

"GREASE is the word, is the word…" for Theatre in the Park as the community theatre opens its first indoor production with the popular musical GREASE on June 9 for a three-week run at the new Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in Overland Park. Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. on June 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24; at 6 p.m. on June 11; and matinee performances at 2 p.m. on June 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25. GREASE is rated R and is recommended for mature audiences over 17.

Lyric Stage will close its 24th season with its 21st world premiere, PURE COUNTRY, June 9-18, 2017. Performances are June 9, 10, 15, 16 & 17 at 7:30 PM and June 11 & 18 at 2:30 PM in the Irving Arts Center's Carpenter Performance Hall, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.

Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Today's big news: The musical adaptation of the cult '90s hit ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION makes its World Premiere in Seattle!

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie and Broadway producer Joey Parnes announced today that the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, 'Crazy for You,' with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig ('Lend Me a Tenor'), will be produced by Center Theatre Group in an exclusive pre-Broadway engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre. Susan Stroman ('The Producers,' 'Show Boat,' 'Contact'), who won the first of her five Tony Awards for choreographing the original 1992 Broadway production of the musical, will direct and choreograph this limited Los Angeles engagement which will begin performances February 7, 2018, and run through March 18, 2018.

New musicals are always a risky proposition for any theatre company, but Pallas Theatre Collective is rising to the challenge in a big way with its current production Crazy Mary Lincoln. The show is a product of the company's Table Read series, which puts the writers through a two year process of readings to work on their show before it gets to full production. In this case, the process paid off in spades.

After auditioning performers in New York City, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre has confirmed casting for all five shows in the 67th Music Circus season. The Minty Organization, the non-profit company which oversees The Minty Awards, held its biggest ceremony of the year, The 7th Annual Minty Awards, Sunday, June 4 at the historic St. George Theatre.  Over 1,100 attended the ceremony honoring excellence among the Staten Island Catholic High School's musical theatre productions.

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) is pleased to announce the much-anticipated addition to its 2017-2018 Season, which already includes an impressive line up of leading contemporary theatre titles. Playing April 24-May 19, 2018, this musical biography will feature celebrated local actress and Ensemble Theatre veteran Torie Wiggins in the leading role, singing some of Waters's most famous songs, including 'Stormy Weather,' 'Black and Blue," and 'This Joint is Jumpin'.' Sharing the stage in telling Ms. Waters's remarkable story is pianist Scot Woolley.

On Monday, June 26, 2017, Broadway Sings for Pride will premiere their 7th anniversary benefit concert in New York City at the JCC Manhattan. This milestone event will be filled with singing (from pop to Broadway), stories, special guests, and, of course, fun! The proceeds will benefit The Tyler Clementi Foundation and Orlando's Contigo Fund.

The 71st Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 11th at 8/9c hosted by Kevin Spacey. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize...

Jamie Wilson and Gavin Kalin have announced that Charlotte Wakefield will play 'Polly' in the national tour of the Watermill Theatre's acclaimed production of 'CRAZY FOR YOU'. Charlotte joins the previously announced Tom Chambers as 'Bobby' and Caroline Flack as 'Irene'. 'CRAZY FOR YOU' opens at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth on 17 August 2017.
