The Geffen Playhouse tackles the various conflicting definitions of sexual consent in its co-world premiere of playwright Anna Ziegler's ACTUALLY beginning May 2, 2017. I made the most of the opportunity to delve into Anna's thoughts on her love of writing; how, by chance, she became the successful writer she is today; and her reaction to winning London's 2016 WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play for her PHOTOGRAPH 51.

The Public Theater will kick off the 2017-18 season in September with a free Public Works musical adaptation of AS YOU LIKE IT, adapted by Shaina Taub and Laurie Woolery, with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub. The Geffen Playhouse today announced that Jerry MacKinnon (Sleepy Hallow) and Samantha Ressler (This is the End) will star in award-winning playwright Anna Ziegler's Actually, a co-world premiere with the Williamstown Theatre Festival. Tyne Rafaeli will direct the Geffen's production which runs May 2, 2017 through June 11, 2017 in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse. Opening night is May 10, 2017.

Dom Kelly grew up around music. As part of the group, A Fragile Tomorrow, Dom along with brothers Sean, Brendan and friend Shaun Rhodes, Dom has travelled all over the world performing and entertaining. From the time he was 11 years old, Dom enjoyed the opportunity to make music with his band. With many challenges and obstacles to overcome early in their lives, A Fragile Tomorrow has been a source of strength for the family. Dom Kelly decided it was time to try to make some music on his own and his first solo album entitled “Everything is Just Enough” will be released on April 7, 2017. BWW caught up with Dom recently as he shared his thoughts and insights on his first album.

"Passionate, inspiring, witty, dark, and playful" are words actress Darcy Stewart uses to describe MATILDA THE MUSICAL, which is coming to Atlanta's Fox Theatre on April 18-23, 2017. Stewart plays Mrs. Wormwood, an antagonist who is obsessed with salsa dancing. In the number "Loud" she gets shows off her choreography skills, however, the scene is based off the controversial notion that "looks are more important than books." "It [Matilda] is more vulgar than what people expect. People think "Matilda" as a show about this little five-year-old, but it's actually darker than that. There's a lot of things that kids won't understand, like bullying and verbal child abuse. It speaks a lot about honesty and fighting for what you believe in, even if you're a kid," Stewart explains.
