Jeremy McCarter to Host Public Forum Lecture Series at The Public this Season

This fall, The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Andrew D. Hamingson, Executive Director) will launch The Public Forum, an exciting new series of lectures, debates and conversations that showcase leading voices in the arts, politics and the media. Curated by Jeremy McCarter, a senior writer at Newsweek, Public Forum events are open to the general public. Tickets for the inaugural event can be purchased for $25 beginning Tuesday, October 5. Member tickets are on sale Tuesday, September 28.

A sweeping saga of love beneath the Tuscan sun, TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley presents the epic Tony Award-winning musical THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, with book by Pulitzer Prize-nominee Craig Lucas and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, based on the 1960 novella by Elizabeth Spencer. Set to the soaring melodies of what the Chicago Tribune called 'the most beautiful score written for the American musical theater in 20 years,' this breath-taking musical is the poignant tale of two extraordinary young people and the overwhelming power of love. SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM Heads to the West End in October?

British stage vet Rhydian Roberts has revealed on BBC Radio that SONDHEIM ON SONDEHIM, which concluded its limited engagement on Broadway on June 27, 2010, will be playing the West End beginning in October. While visiting Richard Bacon's program last week to promote the new stage production of WAR OF THE WORLDS in which he will be appearing, Roberts explained: 'I'm due to go into a Sondheim show in the West End in October...SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM. It's coming over from Broadway so I'll be going in there for a short stint.' Click here to hear the clip (begin at the 59min mark)! Jack Wetherall will join the previously announced Dana Ivey in 'Happy Days' by Samuel Beckett, July 6 - 24, as part of the 80th Anniversary Season at Westport Country Playhouse. Directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director, the production is the third in the Playhouse's premier season under Lamos' artistic direction.
