'CALENDAR GIRLS', the new stage play by Tim Firth, adapted from his own screenplay for the 2003 film, will star Lynda Bellingham, Patricia Hodge, Sian Phillips, Gaynor Faye, Brigit Forsyth, Julia Hills and Elaine C Smith. Also in the cast are Joan Blackham, Abby Francis, Gary Lilburn, Gerard McDermot and Carl Prekopp.
Goodman Theatre unites six diverse Chicago theater companies who are presenting work created, produced and/or performed by women for a special spring series, 'Taking the Stage: A Celebration of Women Making Theater,' April 4 - 19, 2009. Over the course of two weeks, each of the participating companies-Babes with Blades, Berwyn's 16th Street Theater, Goodman Theatre, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, Serendipity Theatre Collective and Teatro Luna-presents productions, panel discussions and workshops that highlight the voices and visions of female theater artists, as well as the opportunities and obstacles they face today.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's music swoons in heartfelt fashion in Evita--a larger-than-life modern musical that audiences worldwide adore.
The Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University will continue its 2008-09 season in March.
Danceworks 2009, featuring the choreography of Northwestern's dance faculty and guest artists, opens Feb. 27 and runs through March 8. The season will continue with the department of performance studies' presentation of 'The Winter Barrel: Stories by Eileen Cherry-Chandler' (March 4 to 7), an adaptation of stories by a School of Communication alumna. March will close with the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project's entertaining and educational audience-interactive lecture-demonstration on the subject of rhythm (March 7).
Winner of the 1967 Pulitzer Prize, Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance comes to Arena Stage in a contemporary and provocative new staging under the direction of experienced Albee collaborator Pam MacKinnon. Featuring Broadway stars Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, Angels in America), Terry Beaver (Henry IV, The Last Night of Ballyhoo), Ellen McLaughlin (Angels in America) and Carla Harting (Eurydice),joined by Helen Hedman and James Slaughter, A Delicate Balance runs February 6-March 15, 2009 at Arena Stage in Crystal City. The press opening performance is Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
'Albee is fearless about writing stories that get us in the solar plexus, and he does so with his brilliant wit, dynamic storytelling and rigorous use of language,' shares Artistic Director Molly Smith. 'His work draws the best artists, and with this production audiences are fortunate to have an enormously strong cast and creative team-approved by Albee himself.'
A frequent director of Albee plays, MacKinnon has directed The Play About the Baby, the world premieres of Peter and Jerry: Homelife and The Zoo Story (now titled At Home at the Zoo) and Occupant, as well as the U.S. regional and European premieres of The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of CALENDAR GIRLS will open at the Noël Coward Theatre in London's West End on Saturday 4 April for a 12-week limited season, running until 27 June.
Official London Theatre is reporting that Julie Atherton will be returning to the cast of AVENUE Q on December 1st, 2008. It has been announced that the show will be concluding its three year run in the West End at the Noel Coward theatre on March 28th, 2009.
