The Butterfly Club announces its Club news and calendar for the month of June.
Club news 1:The Australian National Academy of Music and The Butterfly Club have announced a strategic creative partnership. This is taking the form of collaborations such as joint presentation of acclaimed British Cellist Matthew Barley on Thursday 11 June, through joint promotions and bystaging an Emerald Hill open day on Sunday 20 September.

The ideal way for people from all areas of the arts and entertainment industries to meet and mingle.Cabaret cocktail of the month:Presenting ‘Morphium’, a dark and whimsical cocktail in honour of Kim Smith’s visit to Australia and return to The Butterfly Club.With Jazz Cigarette she returns to The Butterfly Club to prepare for her Adelaide Cabaret Festival debut with three of Melbourne’s hottest young jazz musicians – Sam Keevers on Piano, Ben Robertson on Double Bass and Raj Jayaweera on Drums.
This show is filled with standard jazz ballads, downright sassy blues and unique interpretations of modern day classics. Returning to The Butterfly Club where his cabaret career begun, Smith was winner of a 2009 New York Backstage Bistro Award, alongside Charles Aznavour and Liza Minnelli. He was also recently announced as a nominee for the 2009 MAC Best Male Vocalist Award.

And what better place to sing out than at The Butterfly Glee Club, the hippest sing-along choir in town. Come along and sing as loudly or softly as you like – there are no solos and no karaoke microphones – just a big ol’ group sing.
