Theatre enthusiasts packed the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts tonight to hear Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Executive Director Phil Santora of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley reveal the lineup for the company's 49th season, which launches this summer. GOLDSTEIN, a new musical about family with music and lyrics by Michael Roberts and a book by Charlie Schulman will open Thursday, April 5th at 7PM at the Actors' Temple Theatre (339 West 47 St -between 8th and 9th Avenues). FUN HOME is a musical, based on the 2006 graphic memoir by the American cartoonist Alison Bechdel, who is the author of the comic strip DYKES TO WATCH OUT FOR. Bechdel's play tells the story of her life as she navigates through her years of childhood to adulthood, while living in the same house in a town in Pennsylvania.

Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 30th anniversary season opens with the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home. Created by Jeanine Tesori (music) and Lisa Kron (book and lyrics) and based on the celebrated graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home will begin preview performances on September 16, open September 22, and run through October 22 on The Armory's U.S. Bank Main Stage. Artistic Director Chris Coleman will direct a cast lead by Allison Mickelson, Sara Masterson and Aida Valentine as the central character, Alison, at three different ages. Robert Mammana (previously at The Armory as Skye Masterson in Guys and Dolls and Father in Ragtime) and Faith Sandberg will play Alison's parents, Bruce and Helen Bechdel.
Steven Fales, whose one-man show CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY was a hit at the former Bailiwick Arts Center in 2005, will bring that autobiographical play back to Chicago along with staged workshop readings of two new pieces that detail an earlier period and a later period of Fales' life.

Journal invites you to Twigs, Trees, and Trailblazers, a festive benefit fundraiser event and celebration of HOW Journal's Issue 13. H.O.W. Journal was founded in 2006 and is an art and literary journal that publishes an eclectic mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art of prominent and upcoming writers with an effort to raise money for needy children throughout the world. This year, H.O.W. Journal marries dance with literature and honors fearless women throughout history. The event includes dance pieces by Alison Manning and Jesse Keller Jason´s company, DanceTheYard, and readings by acclaimed writers Daphne Merkin, Amy Kurzweil, Victoria Redel, John Reed, and Tiphanie Yanique.
