The Royal Alexandra Theatre Will Dim The Marquee Lights To Mark The Passing Of Blanche & Alan Lund And Galt MacDermot

Two theatre greats died in December 2018, both with history at the Royal Alexandra Theatre.  Dancer and teacher Blanche Lund died on December 1, 2018, and composer Galt MacDermot died on December 17, 2018. Because of the holidays the theatre did not have a chance to properly mark the passing of these remarkable people. We will do so now.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) and the entire Broadway community mourn the loss of Tony Award-winning writer Joe Masteroff, who passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at age 98. Roundabout will celebrate Masteroff's memory and longstanding history with the company by dimming the lights of the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street), Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street), and the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street) on Wednesday, October 17 at 5:45pm for one minute.

A Halloween treat pairs live orchestra with the 1925 horror classic The Phantom of the Opera on The Soraya's large screen on Saturday, November 3 at 8:00pm. The original score ratchets up the spook factor with the world's foremost theater organ expert, Dennis James on the rare Allen theatre organ. CSUN alum Richard Kaufman returns to conduct the New West Symphony with the haunting score.

El Capitan Theatre Announces Halloween Events: Hocus Pocus & The Nightmare Before Christmas 4-D

The legendary El Capitan Theatre celebrates the Spooktacular 25th Anniversary this October of its two Halloween favorites: Disney's beloved "Hocus Pocus" October 11-21, followed by the 25th annual presentation of Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" October 22-31, shown in 3D with spine-tingling interactive 4D sensory effects, including lights, fog, scents, and more wind and snow than ever before! The Prostate Cancer Foundation Launches PSA Starring Actor Dax Shepard

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Prostate Cancer Foundation's (PCF) efforts of advancing prostate cancer research. In honor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month this September, the PCF is making it the Prostate Cancer ACTION month to create awareness, spark conversations and raise funds to help accelerate much needed research.  For the first time in American history, a record number of landmarks across the U.S. will light up blue in support of men battling the disease, and the PCF will be premiering a new public service announcement (PSA) starring actor Dax Shepard, plus, launching the PCF Pushup Challenge.

Carole Dance Takes Over From Fiz Marcus In UK Tour Of MY MOTHER SAID I NEVER SHOULD

London Classic Theatre today announces that Carole Dance will now play the role of Doris Partington in the UK tour of Charlotte Keatley's My Mother Said I Never Should. Dance steps into the role as Fiz Marcus has had to withdraw due to unforeseen health issues. The full company is completed by Felicity Houlbrooke (Rosie Metcalfe), Kathryn Ritchie (Jackie Metcalfe) and Connie Walker (Margaret Bradley). Artistic Director of LCT, Michael Cabot, directs the production, which tours to 14 venues, opening at Theatre Royal Windsor on 25 September with performances at Queen's Hall Arts Centre, Hexham, Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and Gala Theatre, Durham from 11 September.

In the days of Yugoslavia their differing ethnicities was accepted as a norm in the cosmopolitan city of Sarajevo. Told through the lens of an ambitious South African conflict journalist who infiltrates their lives we follow the slow but steady decline of a lifelong friendship. Theirs is a story known to many Yugoslavs who were separated from one another and who turned on each other during a senseless war. It is a story known to people all over the world who are torn apart because of race, religion and the mass media that use war as their fodder.

THREE TALL WOMEN Adds Extra Show on Closing Day

Producer Scott Rudin has announced that to accommodate ticket demand, Edward Albee's Three Tall Women will add a ninth performance in its final week of performances. Nominated for six 2018 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Play, Three Tall Women must close as previously scheduled on Sunday, June 24, with the added 7:00 PM show now the final performance for the ecstatically received production. Tickets are on sale now at Telecharge.com, and at the Golden Theatre box office (252 West 45th Street).
