Multiple Grammy® Award-wining artist, Michelle Williams, of the internationally renowned recording group, Destiny's Child, will star in the title role of The Muny's 2016 production of Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida, August 8 - 14. The Muny's production of Aida is directed by Matt Lenz and choreographed by John Rua with music direction by Andrew Graham.

Second Stage Theatre's 37th Anniversary Gala celebration will honor Producer DAVID STONE, celebrating his ongoing 12 year relationship with the Off-Broadway Company.  The evening's Honorary Chair is James M. Nederlander and the Co-Chairs are Marc Platt, Patrick Catullo, and Nancy Coyne.  The gala evening, which will be directed by James Lapine, will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Cipriani 42nd Street.  The evening's entertainment, which will feature stars who have appeared in Stone's productions over the years, will be announced at a later date.  This is the first time Second Stage's annual gala will be honoring a Broadway producer.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) today announced programming for the inaugural Tilt Kids Festival. The new cultural festival for families will feature multidisciplinary international work paired with commissions from New York artists, including five premieres. Tonight, October 9, noted orchestrator and conductor Fred Barton will bring the music of Broadway and the American Songbook to the Schimmel Center at Pace University, in American Showstoppers: An Evening of Johnny Mercer. In his seventh concert at Pace, Fred Barton now brings the power of Mercer's music and lyrics front and center, with a 14-piece orchestra and a cast of 16 Broadway singers and dancers, with direction and choreography by Scott Thompson. The cast is headlined by Damon Kirsch, Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams, two time Tony nominee Vivian Reed, Nick Spangler, Tony Nominee Lauren Worsham, and Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba. The cast also features Jesse Luttrell, Sean McGibbon and Molly Pope.

 The world premiere of THE ETERNAL SPACE, a new play written by Justin Rivers and directed by Mindy Cooper, will begin performances at New York City's Theatre Row on November 13, 2015.

WaterTower Theatre presents the world premiere of Donald Fowler's musical CREEP. The musical will open WaterTower Theatre's 2015-2016 Season on Monday, October 5, 2015 (with previews tonight, October 2, Saturday, October 3, and a Gala Preview performance on Sunday, October 4). Kate Galvin, Associate Producer at the 11th Hour Theatre Company in Philadelphia, will direct. CREEP is produced by Terry Martin.

Al Hirschfeld immortalized celebrities, politicians, Broadway productions, films, television shows and beyond with his iconic linear drawings for nine decades, establishing himself as one of the most important contemporary portrait artists. Over a decade since the legendary artist drew his final line drawing, he continues to inspire. Tonight, September 29, at 6:30PM, The Art Students League of New York (215 W 57th Street) will host a discussion on the art and influence of perhaps the most popular graphic artist of the 20th century.
