Odysseuss misadventures on his journey home to Ithaca have often been told only through the heros perspective. This production weaves together narrative perspectives from Odysseus, Penelope, and the goddess Athena as it adapts from the translation by Emily Wilson -- the first woman to translate The Odyssey. By weaving together these narrative perspectives, the production focuses not just on the journey home, but on preserving and protecting it. Adapted and choreographed by Trixie Paprika and featuring original music by Stuart Zobel, this production offers a lyrical and cinematic take on the classic. The Odyssey will be streamed via ShowTix4U in a premiere event at 8:00 PM PST on May 21. It will be available on demand thereafter until June 25. The show features Noveltease Core Company members Onyx Asili, Fosse Jack, Sailor St. Claire, and Polly Wood, along with guest artists Lulu La Lune, Scarlett Folds, Willy Nilly, and Moscato Extatique. Filmed at Seattles Theatre Off Jackson, The Odyssey is directed by Cheeky Diamondz with photographic direction by Alyza DelPan-Monley.
