Village Theatre KIDSTAGE is proud to announce its all-new program: Preschool Arts Adventures. This two-day-a-week program offers an enriching, creative learning environment for your preschool aged child to embark on a journey of imagination and discovery.

Arts Adventures uses an arts-based teaching structure and child-centered learning environment, where the emphasis is on the process, allowing children to think and solve problems creatively. The arts of dance, music, visual art, drama, and literature are natural disciplines that help children grow through experience and find joyful, positive, and varied ways to express themselves with confidence. Professional instructors will guide students in the exploration and appreciation of the arts, with preschool social and academic skills integrated into the process.

Children will have opportunities to engage their mind, body, and imagination, while creating new connections within their dynamic world, nurturing the "whole child." Related walking field trips, such as attending age-appropriate Village Theatre Pied Piper presentations, sculpture walks, and museum visits will enhance this experience and reinforce cognitive development. Life skills are cemented by "doing" and children learn best through hands-on involvement. What an extraordinary gift we can give our children by allowing them to experience life through the arts.

About Village Theatre

Village Theatre is a leading producer of musical theatre in the Pacific Northwest. What began in 1979 with the vision of a small group of dedicated theatre artists has grown into one of the region's best-attended resident theatres, with over 18,000 subscribers to the current season and 165,000 projected total attendance, youth education programs serving over 54,000 young people, families, and schools annually, and a nationally recognized program that has enabled the development of over 80 new musicals. Serving an expanding and diverse community, Village Theatre has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years with the start of our contract as the resident performing and management company at the Everett Performing Arts Center in 1998.

KIDSTAGE is made possible, in part, by City of Issaquah, Everett Cultural Commission, Fluke, Kobe Foundation, Snohomish County Tourism, Tulalip Tribes, US Bancorp, and Washington State Arts Commission.
