Teatro ZinZanni kicks of 2011 with an all-new show, Radio Free Starlight, playing now through May 8, 2011 at its magical spiegeltent at 222 Mercer Street.  Teatro ZinZanni is a three-and-a-half hour whirlwind of cirque, cabaret and comedy all served up with a five-course gourmet dinner designed by celebrated Northwest chef Tom Douglas.

Moonlighting takes on a whole new meaning as the cast of Teatro ZinZanni serves up a gourmet feast AND a live radio broadcast in Radio Free Starlight. Blues legend Duffy Bishop retakes center ring as Madame ZinZanni, owner of the tent and singing star for Radio TZ. With her motley restaurant staff of clowns, she and her sometimes husband Ricky (played by comedian Joe DePaul) broadcast nightly into the cosmos with some inter-galactic surprises.
In fact, performances of Radio Free Starlight can be heard live at 101.9 FM within 200 feet of the spiegeltent - pretty much from parking lot to parking lot.

Radio Free Starlight also features hula-hoop champion and performance artist Mat Plendl, rola bola and juggling acrobat Bernard Hazens, comic trapeze duo the Die Maiers, the yodeling dominatrix Manuela Horn, opera singer Juliana Rambaldi and newcomer aerialist Danielle Rueda-Watts.
Radio Free Starlight is directed by Teatro ZinZanni's artistic director and founder Norm Langill and co-director Elise "Mo" Durocher.  Written by Michael Davis; musical direction by Norman Durkee; choreography by Brett Nugent; lighting designed by Peter Bracilano; and costumes are designed by Louise DiLenge.

Performances through May 8, 2011 are Thursday through Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m. with occasional Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., and Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. A 90-minute varieté version of the show, Sweet Sunday Brunch, is also offered on select dates.  For more information, a complete list of Evening and Brunch dates and for ticket reservations, please visit our website zinzanni.org, or call (206) 802-0015 or visit our box office at 222 Mercer Street (Tuesday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.) For groups of 12 or more, please call (206) 802-0013.
