'TWAS THE NIGHT… and 3 PIGS Set for Studio East and StoryBook Theater, Beg. 10/27

By:

Will my kid cry or scream? Can my child even sit still for an entire musical? The joy of live theater at the holidays can be a stress inducer for most families with children, unless they look toward Studio East and StoryBook Theater as a source for great live holiday entertainment.

Any parent knows that kids love watching other kids on stage; and with 'Twas the Night… Studio East rotates two casts of 40 kids and adults each to entertain families this holiday season. Now in its 12th year, 'Twas the Night… is a hilarious spin on this country's most famous holiday poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas, and has become a holiday tradition for many Seattle area families. It's fun for all ages in a relaxed, family-friendly theater environment.

In 'Twas the Night… all the rules are broken as reindeer dress like chorus girls, cats and mice share the same stage in harmony, and time knows no bounds when the swingin' 60s collide with prim and proper Victorian carolers. There's even an audience sing-a-long to keep everyone on their toes. And for those that come every year, you're always guaranteed new surprises!

'Twas the Night… is recommended for ages 4+, has a running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes, including intermission. All tickets are $14. All performances are at the Studio East Mainstage Theater located at 11730 118th Ave NE in Kirkland. Performances run Nov. 24 - Dec. 16 Sat/Sun @ 11am, 2pm and 5pm. Plus 3 Friday evening performances Nov 30, Dec 7, Dec 14 @ 7pm.

For the very youngest audiences (recommended ages 3+) Studio East's professional touring company, StoryBook Theater, presents the timeless classic 3 Pigs at four area theaters this fall, and into the Holiday Season. The Wolf is on the hunt for some succulent pork and the shakin' bacon starts makin' a sturdy, tooth-proof home for protection. This zany rendition of the favorite tale will have audiences, small and tall, rooting for the little porkers as they scramble to save their skins. Audiences young and old will be delighted by songs like "Piggy Power," "Homeporker.com," and "Pig of the Litter!"

Tickets to 3 Pigs are $10 for all patrons over 1 year of age and can be purchased at www.storybooktheater.org. Season Subscriptions are also available until Dec. 14, 2012. The professional all-local adult cast will present:
