TMP Presents 'THE PRODUCERS' 4/24 - 5/17

By:

The Producers skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an "equal opportunity offender!"The production runs April 24 through May 17. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm, with additional Saturday matinees on May 9th and 16th at 2 p.m. The production takes place at Tacoma Musical Playhouse located at 7116 Sixth Avenue. Bialystock and Bloom! Those names should strike terror and hysteria in anyone familiar with Mel

Press notes express, "Brooks' classic cult comedy film. Now as a big Broadway-style musical, The Producers once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. Hilarious, a teeny bit offensive, off the wall, and the winner of a record 12 Tony Awards in 2001, you will find yourself holding your sides with laughter as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom sing and dance their way through the greatest show biz scam that there ever was.

"He's done it again....it's the worst show in town!" proclaims the theater-goers onstage attending the opening night production of a new musical version of Hamlet entitled Funny Boy! The down-on-his-luck producer and his mild-mannered accountant (played by regional favorites Frank Kohel and Scott Polovitch-Davis) then work to come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious Broadway flop in history, thereby bilking their backers out of millions of dollars".

Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for students, seniors and military. Student Rush tickets are $18 for opening weekend performances. For tickets or more information, please call 253-565-6867.

Tickets available online at www.tmp.org. This production is not suitable for children age 12 and younger.
