THE MASTER AND MARGARITA Returns To Seattle

theater simple "breaks and remakes" their award-winning take on Mikhail Bulgakov's satire, The Master and Margarita. Originally staged in 1996, the world has changed, and it's time to see what else has shifted. From sold-out tours in Canada, the US and Australia (Winner - BEST PLAY, Adelaide Fringe), M&M was been theater simple's most requested work, and given the state of global politics, it seemed ripe for re-examination.

THE BASICS: 1932: The Devil comes to Moscow, demonic entourage in tow, to learn if Stalin's politics have actually changed human nature... And to find a hostess for his annual Devil's Ball. This story is tangled up in interesting ways with a re-telling of a fateful meeting with Pontius Pilate.

"theater simple balances the grotesque with the sublimely elegant, juxtaposes absurdity with profundity and makes light of darkness. Superb." The Adelaide Advertiser

Be prepared to witness 5 actors taking on the challenge of 35+ characters, with on-stage musicians playing a brand new musical score by Brent Arnold.
