Showtunes Theatre Company Returns To Seattle In 2010
Showtunes Theatre Company, the critically acclaimed theater company that produces neglected or lost musicalsin a concert format, is roaring back to Seattle in 2010.
Showtunes Theatre is now producing in association withBroadway Across America (BAA) and Seattle Theatre Group (STG), and returns to downtown Seattle with a Tenth Anniversary Celebration Benefit on January 9, 2010, at The Moore Theatre. This one-night-only eventkicks off their inaugural season at The Moore, and their celebrated musicals in concert productions continue there in May and October.
Maggie Stenson Pehrson, the company's Executive Producer, is also pleased to announce that Broadway luminary Martin Charnin (the creator, lyricist, and director of ANNIE) has come onboard as the new Artistic Director for the Company. "Martin has been a huge supporter of Showtunes behind the scenes for many yearsnow. The board and I are thrilled that he was drawn to accepting this prominent role with the company, and I'm looking forward to this collaboration.
"Tickets for Showtunes' 10 th Anniversary Season will go on sale this fall, and Pehrson suggests you save that January 9 th 2010 date."This one-night-only celebration will serve as a great introduction to those audience members who aren't familiar with our unique performances," Pehrson enthuses. "We'll celebrate our move to The Moore - a perfect venuefor us - as we highlight past productions and give people a taste of what to expect as our season continues in May and October."Details for the 2010 season shows will be forthcoming.
