Seattle Women's Pride 2017 Announced

By:
On Saturday, June 17, 2017, we will come together for the fifth year in a row to celebrate our history, victories, culture, and successes during Seattle Women's Pride," said Seattle Women's Pride founder Sarah Toce. "No one, not even the President of the United States, will hold us down.

With the threat looming regarding Trump's "religious freedom" executive order signing at the White House Thursday, the founder of Seattle Women's Pride, Sarah Toce, has a very clear message: our community will not be bullied.

"We at Seattle Women's Pride are at a loss for words to explain or make sense of how destructive the 'religious freedom' executive order is for so many families," Toce said. "Now, more than ever, we must all stand up, come out and be counted."

Seattle Women's Pride 2017 takes place at Q Nightclub from 5-10 p.m. Tickets are available now via Stranger Tickets. New this year: $5 from every VIP ticket will be donated to the ACLU to continue the fight for civil rights to combat the Trump agenda.

Performing this year are Brooklyn-based bands Parlor Walls and Oracle Room. Parlor Walls' music swims between chaos and restraint, nestling in the cracks of warmth and dissonance. The lush pop of Oracle Room is centered around the lyrics and vocals of New York-based songwriter Alex Nelson, the emotional catalyst for the band's ghostly turbulent electronica.

Last year's event honored leading pioneers, including U.S. Representative Suzan DelBene (WA-1), who received the Seattle Women's Pride Crusader Award; Midwife Ali Tromblay, who received the Seattle Women's Pride inaugural Community Champion Award; and Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary Yu, who was honored with the organization's inaugural Luminary Award. Honorees for 2017 Seattle Women's Pride will be announced the week of May 8.

Seattle Women's Pride 2017 is produced by The Seattle Lesbian. The awards portion of the evening is being presented by Eastside Total Health and Lactation. Sponsorship opportunities are available, please see seattlewomenspride.com for additional details.

The 21+ event is ASL interpreted and ticket reservations are highly encouraged as the event does sell out capacity. Tickets are $35 for General Admission or $45 for VIP and are available via Stranger Tickets.
