Seattle Public Theater Presents THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER and THE SANTALAND DIARIES, Dec 2012

By:

Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is ready to deck the halls this holiday season with SPT's 12th production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson presented in repertory with David Sedaris' The Santaland Diaries adapted by Joe Montello at the historic Bathhouse Theater on Green Lake.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER: Disrupting the status quo, the terrible Herdman kids take over the annual church Christmas Pageant. With Artistic Director Shana Bestock at the helm, SPT's seasonal classic returns to tell the tale of a family hell-bent on twisting everyone's expectations of a holiday tradition inside out. Come be a part of the SPT holiday event that guarantees fun and holiday cheer for the whole family.

THE SANTALAND DIARIES: This outrageous one-man show features SPT alumni Patrick Lennon as David, an aspiring young writer struggling to survive in New York City. Desperate for cash, David finds employment as a minion of Santa at Macy's Santaland. Told in Sedaris' inimitable style, The Santaland Diaries is steeped in caustic humor and irony that strips away the layers of frenzied holiday insanity to reveal the best and worst in us all. Not for the ears of younger elves.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever performances are December 7th-24th. The Santaland Diaries performances are: December 7th-24th. Show times and prices vary, so call the box office at (206) 524-1300 or go online www.seattlepublictheater.org.
