STG Hosts An Evening With Terry Gross At The Paramont Theatre 6/5

By:

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents An Evening with Terry Gross at The Paramount Theatre Friday, June 5, 2009 at 8:00pm. Host of NPR's Fresh Air, weekday magazine show of contemporary arts and issues, Terry Gross can be heard by more than four and a half million people on nearly 500 public radio stations.

Guests on Gross' Fresh Air have included many of the most celebrated artists, writers, actors, and musicians of our time, such as Philip Roth, James Brown, John Travolta, Sonny Rollins, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. She is known for her thoughtful, probing interview style and in her trusted company, even the most reticent guest relaxes and reflects on his or her life and work. But Gross doesn't shy away from controversy or asking challenging questions, one of the reasons why Bill O'Reilly terminated his interview with her. Her interview with Gene Simmons of Kiss inspired Entertainment Weekly to name Simmons "Crackpot of the Year - Male."

In An Evening with Terry Gross, Gross will play sound bites from interviews that went especially well and especially badly, to illustrate her discussion of interviewing techniques. Then she does something else that she never does on her program - she talks about her own life and career, giving The Audience a chance to interview her.

Tickets: An Evening with Terry Gross tickets are $25.00 - $65.00 (not including fees) and are available online at www.stgpresents.org or ticketmaster.com, by phone at (800)745-3000, in person at The Paramount Theatre box office, Monday through Friday 10:00am-6:00pm and at Ticketmaster outlets. The Paramount Theatre is located at 911 Pine Street in downtown Seattle.
