STAGEright Theatre Presents THE BOYS NEXT DOOR, Beginning 4/26
STAGEright Theatre has announced its upcoming production of The Boys Next Door. It's a project that is very dear to the hearts of its company members, and one that perfectly fits with the theatre's mission to explore character relationships through meaningful stories.
Set in the Boston area, The Boys Next Door is the story of four male roommates with special needs who live in a group home. Their lives all take a turn with the visit from an estranged father and the threat of losing their primary caretaker. Taking place over a couple of months, the play is a touching and humorous look into the lives and relationships between these men.
STAGEright is also excited to announce the launch of our adult education program! Following certain performances of our 2013 shows, STAGEright will be hosting panel discussions about the themes found in the production. The first panel discussion will take place immediately following The Boys Next Door performance on Saturday, April 27. The show's director, actors, and members of the mental health field will be offering their knowledge and expertise. Topics covered in this first panel include respectfully portraying the special needs population in entertainment, compassion fatigue, and the role of care providers in our society.
Please note STAGEright's new show time of 7:30pm. All performances will take place at the Richard Hugo House.
