Redwood Theatre presents THUNDERBOLTS AND DUNDERHEARDS 10/9-10/24

Redwood Theatre kicks of their 26th Season with the Washington state premiere of the acclaimed Thunderbolts and Dunderheads, a new farce by Canadian playwright Todd McGinnis, directed by Roy Arauz.

Thunderbolts and Dunderheads plays in Redmond’s Fred W. Meitzer Theater, within the Redmond Civic Campus, from October 9 through October 24, 2009.  Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm.  The Sunday, October 18 2:00 pm performance will be interpreted for the hearing impaired.

A nightmare day at the office – Iris, Goddess of Rainbows goes to Zeus asking for a promotion, instead to find out that is being permanently down-sized. To survive, she must become Zeus’ personal assistant, help him “score” with a visiting Nordic Goddess, while Hera, Zeus’ wife, has ordered Iris to ruin Zeus’ fun. What’s a Goddess to do? Find out in this hysterical farce that brings new life into the Ancient Myths.

Canadian productions have received critical acclaim. "Brilliant comedy! … Outstanding!” "Thunderbolts and Dunderheads is a very entertaining play for people of all ages!” said Tina Depko of the Brampton Guardian Review of the 2005 production.

Thunderbolts and Dunderheads features the talents of Jennifer Davies as Iris, Charles Eliot as Hermes, Larry Shaw Jr. as Zeus, Ben Johnson as Erronyus Miscellaneous, Kelly Johnson as Hera, Teresa Widner as Valkyrie, and James Lynch as Hades.

Redwood Theatre, an all volunteer-run theatre company and recipient of a City of Redmond’s 2009 Arts Award for ServIce To the Community, presents two plays and one musical per season. We offer a fully accessible facility, and for the second season in a row, Redwood Theatre will present one performance interpreted for the hearing impaired. This performance is made possible thanks to a generous grant by 4Culture.  Redwood Theatre is funded in part by the City of Redmond Arts Commission and 4Culture.
