Village Theatre Pied Piper presents the loveable Max & Ruby by the New York-based TheatreworksUSA on Sunday, May 23 at 2:00 PM at the Everett Civic Auditorium

Ruby, a seven-year-old rabbit, loves her Grandma very much and wants to do something special for her. She gets the brilliant idea to put on a show, with music and costumes and a castle and everything! She tries to enlist her little brother Max to help, but he is no help at all! So, Ruby recruits her Bunny Scout friends for assistance, but can they help her finish Grandma's play in time? You'll find out in this delightful musical based on the top-rated Nickelodeon television show inspired by author RoseMary Wells' bunny siblings, Max and Ruby!

This is the first time this TheatreworksUSA's production of Max & Ruby has been presented in the Pacific Northwest. The characters are sweet and charming, and show a positive model of siblings resolving differences in respectful and supportive ways. Erica Weir, Pied Piper manager comments, "Kids grow up so quickly and there is so much pushed upon them. Presenting a delightful family show like Max & Ruby, which is an entertaining crowd pleaser and still retains childhood innocence, seemed like a perfect close to our 2009-2010 Pied Piper season."

The show boasts strong themes about family, love, sibling relationships, and childhood imagination. The show is aimed for those ages 3-10, and their parents. Short scenes and recognizable characters will engage the younger ages, while the creative costumes and visuals, along with the well written script and music will appeal to the whole family.

In addition to the public performance, school matinee performances of Max & Ruby will also take place at the Everett Civic Auditorium (May 24, 2010 @ 10:00AM and Noon) and at Theatre at Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue (May 25 @ 10:00AM and Noon). School performances may be arranged by calling Village Theatre's Youth Education office at (425) 257-6343.

Families who are interested in getting a taste for this show ahead of time can attend the "Page to Stage Storytimes," led by Erica Weir, Pied Piper manager. These engaging and interactive 15-minute readings expand upon the themes and books associated with this particular Pied Piper performance, and for this show will take place at Imagine Children's Museum on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 between 11:15 AM-1:00 PM.
