Nordo Postpones CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER

Cafe Nordo has announced cancellations and postponements in the midsts of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The following statement has been released:
- We cancelled the remaining shows of The Angel in the House.
- We are postponing the opening of Curiouser and Curiouserby at least one week.
- Nordo has two possible revenue streams at this moment, and those are future ticket purchasing and donations.
- Curiouser and Curiouseris already being built, the art installations are going in on schedule, and it's going to be the most blow-the-doors-off-the-place show we have ever done, and it will happen. Buying tickets now and telling your friends to buy tickets now is the best way to help Nordo survive.
And we're going to need the help.
This week we had to shutter the magnificent The Angel in the House just before its triumphant closing weekend. Almost every one of our ticket holders either donated their tickets back to the theater or rescheduled for another show, with some even making an additional donation to cover the drinks and gratuity they would have purchased, and for that we are so grateful to our community.
While the timing isn't perfect, it could be so much worse, as we have scheduled a few dark weeks to install our big spring show, Curiouser and Curiouser already set for March. These are weeks that our staff already had scheduled as light times for them, dedicated to deep cleaning the theater, kitchen, and backstage as part of our usual between-show protocol.
After that things get very tricky for Nordo and our wonderful employees and artists.
We were set to open the biggest, most ambitious show of our history on April 2. We have patron producers who have put an extra $37K towards creating The Rabbit Hole, a pop-up art bar in The Knife Room that will serve as the launching spot for our Alice in Wonderland experience.
Unfortunately, we are postponing the official opening of Curiouser and Curiouser for at least one week, with our plan to open moved to April 9. This gives us a month more of social distancing and is the best-case scenario we are aiming and hoping for. We will change this if it is against recommendations or even simply not the responsible choice for us to open. But we will open eventually, and every ticket for Curiouser and Curiouser will be honored.
In the meantime, we want to keep offering our staff work and the only way to do that is to keep revenue coming in in the form of pre-purchasing tickets, gift certificates, and donations. The best thing you can do for our organization is to set a date to have a GREAT time.
We truly cannot wait to share Curiouser and Curiouser with you, it's going to be big, wild, and fun and just what the doctor ordered after this incredibly trying time.
