Writer/comedienne/actress/show business legend Lily Tomlin has announced two performance dates at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, Saturday, January 29, and Sunday, January 30. The Best of Lily Tomlin features a collection of more than a dozen of her timeless characters, from Ernestine the Phone Lady and Sister Boogie Woman to Mrs. Beasley and Edith Ann, in a show that celebrates her decades-long career in film, TV and theatre.

The show has been called "wise and howlingly funny" by the Washington Post, and Newsweek says Tomlin has "made the one-person show the daring, irreverent art form it is today." The New York Times calls her simply "amazing."

Tomlin has been twice nominated for Academy Awards and has worked extensively with directors Robert Altman (in Nashville¸ Short Cuts and A Prairie Home Companion) and David O. Russell (Flirting with Disaster, I Heart Huckabees). Her many TV appearances range from Laugh-In and Murphy Brown to Will & Grace and The West Wing, and her celebrated solo show The Search for Intelligent Signs of Life in the Universe won her one of her two Tonys. She also has been awarded four Emmys, a Grammy and two Drama Desk Awards.

Don't miss this exceptional show - a warm and uniquely affecting experience packed with comical insights and wildly witty observations about the human condition - performed by one of the world's consummate talents.

The Best of Lily Tomlin plays Saturday. January 29, at 8 PM and Sunday, January 30 at 3 PM. Tickets are available online at 5thavenue.org, over the phone by calling 206-625-1900/toll-free 888-5TH-4TIX (584-4849), at the Box Office at 1308 5th Avenue in downtown Seattle.
