Kirkland Arts Center Celebrates Anniversary with TEN Seattle Prints Exhibition, 5/14

Kirkland Arts Center, in partnership with the Seattle Print Arts and the Henry Art Gallery, is pleased to present 'TEN: Seattle Print Arts 2010 Anniversary Exhibition'. This exhibition is part of Seattle Print Arts' ten-year anniversary celebration. Juried this year by Seattle Art Museum curator Michael Darling, the biennial exhibition of work by Seattle Print Arts members represents a wide range of ideas and techniques informed by printmaking practices and drawing. The Exhibition will show from May 14 through June 5, 2010. 

Seattle Print Arts is an association of artists, arts professionals, and collectors who have an avid interest in the expanding field of print arts and an appreciation of the print media. Seattle Print Arts is committed to providing artists with opportunities for inspiration and creative exchange, and affirming the importance and vibrancy of our arts community.

In conjunction with the Seattle Print Arts exhibition, the Henry Art Gallery presents a lecture by Michael Darling, the Jon and Mary Shirley Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Seattle Art Museum entitled Pulp Friction: Expanding the Definition of "Works on Paper". The lecture will look at contemporary artists working on paper today, with an emphasis on those who are treating paper in an innovative and ambitious way.

Featured artists will include Quincy Anderson, Jacqueline Barnett, Salina Batt, Betsy Best-Spadaro, Becky Birinyi, Sharon Birzer, Elizabeth Brinton, Nicholas Brown, Eric Day Chamberlain, Leslee Currie, Susan Gans, Gail Gwinn, Kristina Hagman, David Owen Hastings, Dorothy McCuistion, Gene Gentry McMahon, Barbara Noah, Wendy Orville, Barbara Quinn, Barbara Robertson, Susan Smith, Charles Spitzack, Judith Talley, Kappy Trigg, and Joan Wortis.

 

Kirkland Arts Center is located at the corner of 7th Avenue & Market Street in Kirkland.
Hours for the Kirkland Arts Center Gallery are Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 6 PM; Saturdays, 11 AM to 5 PM and second Thursdays until 8 PM. The Gallery is free and open to the public.
