Jose Gonzales Trio's A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS at Strawberry Theatre Workshop Rescheduled for Dec 11

Strawberry Theatre Workshop has decided to reschedule Jose Gonzales Trio Plays 'A Charlie Brown Christmas.'

Seattle theatre lost one of its leaders--Andrea Allen--on November 15th. This week it was announced that the celebration of Andrea's contribution to the arts and arts education will be held on Monday, December 10th at Seattle Repertory Theatre. To allow the community to fully participate in this memorial, the theatre's event, originally scheduled for the same date, will now take place on Tuesday, December 11th.

For the second year in a row, Jose Gonzales Trio will warm Capitol Hill’s holiday season, performing Vince Guaraldi’s classic jazz score to A Charlie Brown Christmas in its entirety. Celebrated local actor Bhama Roget (Strawshop’s THIS LAND, Seattle Rep’s GOD OF CARNAGE) will host the family- friendly evening at the festive Rainier Chapter House. All proceeds from this performance will benefit Strawberry Theatre Workshop. Last year’s sold out concert became an instant holiday tradition for local families and fans of the time-honored holiday television special. 

The first animated special based on Charles Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip, A Charlie Brown Christmas has been honored with an Emmy Award, a Peabody Award, and aired on television every Christmas since its debut in 1965. The musical soundtrack by jazz composer Vince Guaraldi is as well-known as the special itself, with the soundtrack album remaining a perennial best-seller. The signature “Christmas Time is Here” stands alongside the most beloved holiday tunes.

Firmly rooted in jazz, fed with a steady diet of blues, and dedicated to the art of the song, Jose Gonzales Trio offers a fresh take on standards, joyfully flirting with pop, funk, and R&B. Founded in 2004 by Greg Carter, Strawberry Theatre Workshop is a professional theatre company dedicated to socially engaged work of the highest caliber.
