By: Kelsey Denette Mar. 10, 2011
The Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet is set to bring their brand of percussive cool to Icicle Creek Music Center when they perform in concert along with pianists Oksana Ezhokina and Lisa Bergman in EarthMusic on April 2, 2011 at 7:30 pm at Canyon Wren Recital Hall in Leavenworth, Washington.
EarthMusic explores the resplendence and mystery of the nature - musical echoes of new life, fragility, traditional Native America and "cosmic drama" as seen through five contrasting works: Steve Reich's Dance Patterns, Toru Takemitsu's Rain Tree, Frederic Rzewski's To the Earth, John Adams' Coyote Builds North America, and George Crumb's Music for a Summer Evening.Formed in 1996, Pacific Rims is comprised of Gunnar Folsom, Paul Hansen, Matthew Kocmieroski and Robert Tucker, leading players in new, chamber, and orchestral music, dance, theater, and film in the Pacific Northwest. Individually they regularly can be heard performing with the Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, the Fifth Avenue theater and on numerous major and independent motion picture and video game soundtracks from "Die Hard with a Vengence" to "Valkyrie" and "Halo" to "Warcraft".(Event 121685) or call 1-800-838-3006.
